When the rent money is due, I wait and wonder about you. The money you see, comes from you. That is what you said you would do; For me and the little mouths to feed.
When the utilities threatened to go off, And cold surrounds the abode, I wait and wonder about you. The money you see, comes from you. This is what you said you would do; For me and the little mouths to feed.
The money you send is only so much; And you said you cared. But you are never there for me to touch, And when I need your help, You are busy or tired.
I see how it is now; Anger won't help me, But when you ever need me for something, I never did say I would be there and I don't have any money, honey.

About this poem:
Sometimes frustration is overwhelming in a relationship and feelings for one another can become cold and distant.

I simply LOVE thus poem! It is ideal for my situation. ..Unfortunately I can't say anger won't help me because I cannot help being angry especially when the man expects me to pay for everything. ..In my version of the poem I would substitute "you" for me as I am the one that pays the rent utilities etc...Thanks for sharing
