EagleWoman: Just because you can't see the sun with YOUR own eyes during the night, doesn't mean it's not there!!
Same goes for our perceptions of lack of them!!
Dogs can hear sounds that most humans can't hear, doesn't mean the sounds don't exist... And they are far more attuned to energies etc... For instance, my last partner was away working on the mountains, no communication because no mob coverage, no return date because of not knowing when the job would be finished ... on the day of his return, I knew because my dog went and lay by the door ... after a couple of, I thought no because it had already gotten so dark, but my dog was right!!! She went and started waiting for him at the precise moment they had set off from the mountain.
This story is only to illustrate that because most humans don't perceive certain things, it doesn't mean they don't exist!!
I had an experience many years ago that is only one of many that convinces me that there is more beyond our world of reality and belief...I truly do believe

Well your female logic baffles me Suffice to say the sun comes up the next day affirming my belief that it was just having a kip, wheras not many people have contacted us from beyond, on a provable basis.
tomcatwarne: Yes. but this is clearly attributed to the dog's extrordinary scenting ability and not to some extrasensory perception.
I have no idea why really, only commenting ...that they do seem to sense things and smell these ailments ...and perhaps we should be using them for early detection of ailments that require an early detection for successful treatments.
In life after death ...I have no real feeling one way or the other, but like to think there is more to life than what we experience in this world as we know it...

If you bothered to read through the article you introduced, it clearly answers the questions you bring up

Point taken about the sun ...
The fact remains that because most people can't perceive something it doesn't make it unexistant IMO

What do you call a provable basis?
The usual empirical evidence, but please this is a subjective belief, I'm sure one look in your beautiful eyes in real life, and I'd believe anything you say

Typical male, discount everything the woman says then move in on the physical side

I'm simply not that interested as I stated in the other thread...I read till I am satisfied ...and that does not always require me to read everything ...only till I'm am satisfied....
When I was a very young child I would occasionally see and hear people who have passed away and inform my parents of my experiences. My parents were astonished with the information I stated about people I've never known. My mother was concerned so she had our church priest over to our house for a visit to ask him. He told my mother that the minds of children are clean slates with no developed inhibitions which makes them perceptive to such things. He spoke to me about my experiences and told me not to fear them but to embrace them as they are a gift. As the years went by, my experiences lessened but I can still perceive "a presence". It is what it is and I refuse to deny the existence of the spirit world.

tomcatwarne: Then you misunderstand the whole situation, you can compliment a woman without wanting to "shack up" with her. Or maybe it's different in your world.

grizzwald: but see that requires that you read the whole passage....and we know that that is not always the case.... We read till we are satisfied that "We got it" even tho we may not have gotten it ALL..Which is my down fall..and will be the first to admit this fault in myself..Long reads bore me and I simply think that most things can be put across in a lot less words....But as I said this is one of my many flaws....
Ok, stop grizzling grizz, we all have faults. Have a beer.

Its not a flaw, read as far into anything as you like... The extra words are for those that are craving more information

My sister was the same, and still is, she regularly sees people who have pasted. We dont talk about it a lot as I believe when you are dead thats it, there is nothing more.
The only thing we agree on is that there is no god so we stick to that lol.

You'd bevieve the unbelievable bacause after I'd healed your headache/wound/backache/abcess etc by just laying my hands on the affected area, time after time after time, you would run out of emperical explanations and would have to admit there's loads out there we have very little clue about!!!

You don't have to deny it or your experiences!! They are there!!!
It's a good job the priest your mum called was who he was. I know mediums who were "drugged" by their parents on the advice of the "professionals" for many years!! Until they discovered that what they had was the gift of mediumship!!! By which time much damage had been done to them emotionally and medically speaking!!

I suppose it was lucky for me that he was of a conservative protestant...I remember him as a very kind and gentle soul who often visited my parents for tea. He knew me well because of my attendance at the church and through his visits. I don't deny my experiences at all...I just try to avoid discussing it because a lot of people don't understand with the exception of those who have experienced these things themselves. You know exactly what it's all about.
