I'm sure we've all gone through this. You're either cohabiting with a significant other or are married, and have accumulated some pets together (not talking about pets one had before entering the relationship).
Then the painful parting of ways comes, and you must decide what to do with your precious feathered or hairy or scaly wards. Do you simply decide which pets each of you will take away from this relationship, with no further guarantees of contact, or do you make some form of arrangement to have a continued relationship with your pets, even if they live with your ex.
I know of at least one couple who formally included a joint custody agreement in their divorce settlement. Have any other people here done that?

well if the pets are anything but dogs, then she can have em' dogs we might have to share or it also depends on the living situation where the dogs could have more room and running space
