Religious orientation comes first, then smoking/drinking, age requirements, want/don't want children, then everything else. I think it would be hard to be married to someone of the opposite political party. Oh, the arguments that could be anticipated.

I would marry a woman (democrat) now if in other ways she is blessed
If she is a Republican and a nice woman I aint about to invest
Because somewhere in her brain she is under an Alabama type of mental conservative arrest

Assuming she is not so liberal that she is also flirting under other women's dress!

Sorry lostabone,...but I am Canuck so the polytickle parties mentioned are of no nevermind to me. But hey, political affiliation would NEVER be a consideration in my choice when it comes to marriage. My father was a stout conservative, and my mother a left-wing liberal socialist. It lasted well over a half century and all of us kids thrived upon and enjoyed the ensuing political debate!

Sorry lostabone,...but I am Canuck so the polytickle parties mentioned are of no nevermind to me. But hey, political affiliation would NEVER be a consideration in my choice when it comes to marriage. My father was a stout conservative, and my mother a left-wing liberal socialist. It lasted well over a half century and all of us kids thrived upon and enjoyed the ensuing political debate!
