Well if hadn't made the first move I may not be with the guy I'm with now.
He was pretty gun shy when I first met him but you wouldn't know it now.

I wouldn't say she has to make the first move, but I think she should at least give a clear signal that she is interested as well. And No we don't take subtle hints.. we don't usually notice those

What is implied by "first move"?
Is not a smile, a glance, a subtle touch,.....the "first move"? The first to say hello? The first to suggest more,....a coffee, a dinner, a mud-wrestling match at 3:00 A.M.,...to go fishing at the break of dawn? To settle down and get married?
Once again, I must ask,...what do you mean by "first move"?

Great question cin! She should not feel obligated,...but should be prepared to, for it was indeed her move. But hey, a gentleman would probably beat you to the moment!

Far from it in my world! I always offer if I feel financially capable, to pick up the tab. If they smile and say that they asked and it is their obligation, then I smile and garner a great deal of respect for them but I will always offer. Someone you barely know? Hell,...aren't you on a date? I have been known to buy a cup of coffee for a complete stranger in a bus station waiting to catch a ride.
