a bribe is a way for one to create an unfair advantage over the competition. personaly i think its wrong on any level... but also still done to keep up with others before you
Corruption! It happens all the time and a lot of people/corporations have their hands in the cookie jar! It's a race. Each crook has to rush to be sure the other crooks don't get all the cookies! Some get caught, some don't. Bottom line, a whole lot of people are getting screwed along the way!

Sometimes a decision at top level needs to be tactical, usually for what's financially viable. Though often its a control of power, biggest earner, or a clever 'feathering one's own nest' career move. Nobody ever gets to the top by being a nice guy and doing the right thing.....
It is pretty rare that it will be a decision for the greater good as a bribe wouldn't be needed, would it? Therefore, it is invariably immoral and unethical, continuing the 'fireproof and untouchable' attitude amongst those who make such decisions. In turn, the ordinary man (predominantly those who would benefit from an alternative decision) will usually lose out in some shape or form.
Just the fact that a bribe is felt warranted, in itself, equates to corruption.
ynotleon69: ethically speaking. how do you feel about magor corporate decisions being decided by people who have been bribed? localy and globally?
I really am not understanding this sentence. Big corp runs america. That is how they manage to get by with their shoddy business practices and our loving government bows to them as if their some kind of god. they all need a swift kick in the bum. They are culprits behind alot of the major destruction of society. Often not paying the working class a livable wage while expecting more and more work from them. Use to years ago places would advertise for employment saying they were family oriented companies in hopes of getting good workers. Now their main thing is to get the work done as quickly and as cheaply as possiable. Gone are the days of quality it is all about quanity at the expense of the workers and sadly the unsuspecting customers. And sadly they are getting by with it. If the workers do not except their working conditions the companies will just get some that will. Many companies no longer treat their employees humanely which trickles down into society causing to slowly but surely collapse the family units and then when something bad happens everyone stands around with this stupid look saying what is happening to the world. There what ever the question was that is my answer. The public has sold their soul to big corp. Enjoy

uh ohhh... didn't mean to stir up bad feelings. please keep in mind. no one in this world has been free from the effects of corporate favoritism. the rich get richer and the poor get stabbed in the back. please don't be bitter about anything or anyone that have made the world messed up. focus on whatever you can do to teach the wright kind of thinking. or lead by example. make the world beter one good deed at a time. others will see and follow. teach by doing. lead by learning creat a better future through proper morals. don't unlearn through anger.

i agree. ethics dictate that its wrong but productivity among competitors require doing the wrong thing/things. can you emagine if all businesses were actually run with proper ethics?
