I disagree with some of the statements made by Daniel P. Ikeda, M.D., I disagree and consider some of his views as rather simplistic and urge anyone seeking correct understanding of the Mahayana View to either study the Lam Rim or at the very least, seek advice from a qualified Buddhist teacher certainly not someone like Daniel Ikeda
As far as I am concerned, reincarnation is a reality. It is my own experience. But what is truth to me becomes theory to you. That is the difficulty. And I don't want my truth to be your theory. I want it to be a truth for you also.

Can you imagine what you might look like at age 526 ? 1024 ? The body does show wear and tear as it ages,,,
