In Mahayana Buddhism belief, all sentient beings (beings that have mind and fear death) are migrating from life to life according to the seeds sown.
The often used word Karma is not a very good interpretation for the subtle winds, or other way round the seeds of our tomorrows created by the activity of body, speech and mind.
Bearing in mind cause and effect is certain likewise all sentient beings are sowing the seeds of there tomorrows. The cycles of cause and effect have so been migrating since beginningless time. There are far more sentient creatures taking rebirth other than a human rebirth.
The main difference between Human and other sentient beings (fish, cats, dogs, sheep, birds and the like) main difference other than physical form, is human rebirth came with an enhanced ability to reason...

Matthew 25:46 specifically tells us that believers go on to eternal life while unbelievers go onto eternal punishment. Reincarnation has been a popular belief for thousands of years, but it has never been accepted by Christians or followers of Judaism because it is contradictory to Scripture.

if all the billions of sentient beings are migrating from life to life then there isn't an increase, what i think you are referring to is the number that have managed to obtain a human rebirth, maybe that occurs for many reasons including the amount of surplus food being produced today, as well as the incarnations of humans who had created the karma in past life to take rebirth without enough food e.g greedy people or other other beings in there past lives

That just makes sense to me.
My sister was an old soul, she touched so many lives before she left and she did not need to stay here to long, she went home, i lost a child, was 5 months preg and i lost her, she was sent to teach me how precious a child is and i am a nurse, after that i understood loss and was able to connect with people who needed help more:-) her life was not a waste it was a lesson in love and life for me:-)

Thank you, Ladyjewel. I have believed in reincarnation most of my life. When our family lost a dear five month old baby boy, it was still difficult to make sense of it. Your ideas on the death of a baby brought me to tears.
