ladyjewel: Yes i believe we come back a few times to learn what our souls need to learn before we get to heaven, i believe children that die young are sent to help a few souls learn, like a mom and dad maybe need to learn sorrow and need to connect with eachother more? Maybe its to give people someone to love and change the way they see others, and then they dont need to stay here anymore so the go home, like it was said earlier, an old soul almost ready to stay with God or become an angel.
That just makes sense to me. My sister was an old soul, she touched so many lives before she left and she did not need to stay here to long, she went home, i lost a child, was 5 months preg and i lost her, she was sent to teach me how precious a child is and i am a nurse, after that i understood loss and was able to connect with people who needed help more:-) her life was not a waste it was a lesson in love and life for me:-) Hugs
Thank you, Ladyjewel. I have believed in reincarnation most of my life. When our family lost a dear five month old baby boy, it was still difficult to make sense of it. Your ideas on the death of a baby brought me to tears.
The word reincarnation was erased by the nicea council and changed for resurrection. That's why the disciples didn't recognise Jesus, He, reincarnated, another body same person.

he probably did many good dead's which could only lead to a positive out come...you plant an apple seed then an apple tree grows...
In Mahayana Buddhism belief, all sentient beings (beings that have mind and fear death) are migrating from life to life according to the seeds sown. The often used word Karma is not a very good interpretation for the subtle winds, or other way round the seeds of our tomorrows created by the activity of body, speech and mind. Bearing in mind cause and effect is certain likewise all sentient beings are sowing the seeds of there tomorrows. The cycles of cause and effect have so been migrating since beginningless time. There are far more sentient creatures taking rebirth other than a human rebirth. The main difference between Human and other sentient beings (fish, cats, dogs, sheep, birds and the like) main difference other than physical form, is human rebirth came with an enhanced ability to reason...

lol!! I did 3 years in seminary college and never heard this!! What a load of rubbish!! They did not recegnise him because he glowed with the glory of god! Not because he returned as a goat or such!!!
The concept of reincarnation is completely without foundation in the Bible, which clearly tells us that we die once and then face judgment (Hebrews 9:27). The Bible never mentions people having a second chance at life or coming back as different people or animals. Jesus told the criminal on the cross, "Today you will be with me in paradise" (Luke 23:43), not "You will have another chance to live a life on this earth." Matthew 25:46 specifically tells us that believers go on to eternal life while unbelievers go onto eternal punishment. Reincarnation has been a popular belief for thousands of years, but it has never been accepted by Christians or followers of Judaism because it is contradictory to Scripture.
The one passage that some point to as evidence for reincarnation is Matthew 17:10-12 which links John the Baptist with Elijah. However, the passage does not say that John the Baptist was Elijah reincarnated but that he would have fulfilled the prophecy of Elijah's coming if the people had believed his words and thereby believed in Jesus as the Messiah (Matthew 17:12). The people specifically asked John the Baptist if he was Elijah, and he said, "No, I am not" (John 1:21).
Belief in reincarnation is an ancient phenomenon and is a central tenet within the majority of Indian religious traditions, such as Hinduism, Sikhism, and Jainism. Many modern pagans also believe in reincarnation as do some New Age movements, along with followers of spiritism. For the Christian, however, there can be no doubt: reincarnation is unbiblical and must be rejected as false.

Then how do you account for the Ascension of Christ into heaven?
matureduchess: I do believe in reincarnation, however I am puzzled by the fact that the earths population continues to grow.
if all the billions of sentient beings are migrating from life to life then there isn't an increase, what i think you are referring to is the number that have managed to obtain a human rebirth, maybe that occurs for many reasons including the amount of surplus food being produced today, as well as the incarnations of humans who had created the karma in past life to take rebirth without enough food e.g greedy people or other other beings in there past lives
