jac379: Oh no, it was good. I liked it.

I also liked my dog. It was an honour to wash his socks in his last days as my main man.

would you get another?

Kaybee50: My cat would prefer I have no partner at all. She wants my full attenion.
laugh 'mornin'. I voted "yes". Dogs are intensely sensitive, depending on breed. The Lab/Retriever dogs tend to be a bit more willing and accepting of most people, or at least show a first good impression. Some breeds, however, appear to be far more discerning, and, old wives tale or not, I would pay attention to my dog's acceptance or rejection of a friend or love interests' introduction. JMO

No, they're not kept.

They're expected to earn a living, too.
