What would others do when get people next door to them who play their stuff as loud or louder-at times- then I do. I stopped saying hi to my neighbor (don't deserve...inconsiderate butt). And I said I feel like hitting the heck out of his dumb brain but that isn't legal so instead he will get woke up as well to get a taste of the same medicine. I also want to hear my own tv or radio and not his stuff equally of louder. I put a note on my door saying if anyone wonders who the music dicatator is he lives this way with an arrow and it is NOT me....just to advertise. I think considerate people should be praised and the opposite - like him - advertised in a bad way so they think. This man screwed up many of my plans like 3 times a week. Will be added to list of enemies who think the world revolves around them.He actually wonders why I would not want to say hi to...dumb.

I think it best to let the building management and building security deal with it. here if it is audible from 25 ft from the residence they can be fined.

I deal with this all the time. The official time where I live, which Police will respond is after 11:00pm. I have never had to call them yet. The noise has to be above a respectable level. Who decides that?, I do, and most people are compliant when asked nicely. Sometimes it is a simple solution, like raising the speakers off of the floor(less booming through floors and walls) But property Mngmnt. will deal with it if it persists.

Same here in Australia, after 11:00pm and the police will respond.
justjim63: Call the cops, we have laws here specifically for that very thing, no real problem.
right if it is after hours and the office is closed that is about the only choice at that point is to call police with a noise or domestsic disturbance complaint. I have called with several. there is no excuse to force your neighbors to hear your stuff....
people who want to be loud need to live in a situation where they do not have close neighbors

I lived in an apartment where one of my neighbors loved to played his music loud.He would turn it up loud enough so he could hear it while sitting outside.
I approached the guy and asked him to turn down his music. He replied back to me to turn my tv up loud enough to drown out his music.

I lived through this situation, first I complanint to management they didn't do a thing. The couple playing their loud music were blacks. So I did my home work, I played my heavy metal music louder. Result, they moved within 2 wks. This is true.

Make him look the bad guy. Dont play your music/tv as loud and let your other neighbours complain as well as yourself..Ring the landlord while he is playing his music/tv and the landlord listen in...

I thought of many times but he changes it back and forth a lot but maybe they would come and wait a bit and listen.I used to have manager around for other buildings and many times would hear it fast and I wouldn't have to yell at all.
Knock on the door and when he opens it,grab him by the throat, bang is head constantly on the wall, and explain that the sound his head is making against the wall is similiar to the noise you have to put up with from him.

Not a bad time but I thought of how It is hard to concentrate on what doing even if early evening if I hear his stuff the same or louder. If he is not deaf or an elderly person it is inconsiderate to even have THAT loud at an earlier time, really. Houses are for THEM. It seems like the only solution is to get a place that has residents who will complain too or a manager on the premises again.
And I don't feel like talking nice or sking nice if 1) it has been handles OVER and over, or 2) was awoken and/or it is OBVIOUSLY loud to anyone with common sense. THEN...I figure THEY DESERVE to be yelled at AND talked down to. I told one guy to move to some controlling country where they might MAKE people listen to certain things.

My landlord is being real nice after spoke to today. He said he likes to give things a few weeks SOMETIMES. The guy might have to go he said.

That feels like MY head sometimes when it sounds like a vibrating band playing in there. to make it worse he doesn't work so doesn't have to be up at certain times.

Some people have no respect for others.Do it correctly, and you will win.Patience.
rebel2: In the Uk the police do not have a power, but the local council have someone who will place a decimeter in the houselat next door, and register the decibals. There is a legal limit, and if its above, they are fined.
..hi REB.....its not the noise level ...I,m inquiring about....noooooo...but how many headboards do you get though in a year.....??????

Oh I do sympathize with you! I live in an apartment which is surrounded by other flats / buildings and a few years back the neighbors I had were really noisy. This coincided with a difficult period in my life when I was struggling to find a balance between my work, social life and studies... But the biggest problem was that the other inhabitants had their music loud simultaneously, so I was bombarded from every side with a different sound and tempo. It was driving me mad. I've tried to reason with them, pleaded, even begged, but in vain... Until one of them not only was rude, but became physical and pushed me... I forgot my manners and put my home cinema at good use... And since I also happen to be a classic music and opera lover, the neighborhood learned Mozart's Requiem by heart! I had it so loud I could see my windows tremble... It didn't take more than 10 minutes each time for the area to go in silence. As for the noisy tenants, within 2 months from the day I started behaving as they did, one by one moved. Of course we still have parties and celebrations and noise, but as long as it is not 24/7 and within reason, all is well... Good luck with your neighbors...

One of the most difficult things I had to adjust to when moving to Spain was living in a flat. I live in a city so flats are the norm, unlike when I lived in the UK when I always lived in houses.
It's not only being able to hear everything, but the smell of food. Fortunately, I don't have any problems in my current flat and I've been here for 5 years now. The people in the building are all professional people or retired so it's pretty quiet except for the odd celebration or fiesta days.
Hello Ccincy I wish things were as simple as that. Did you ever experience a neighbor playing music with a beat and having his woofer so loud that the furniture in your place are moving? You know! When you cannot hear the music as such, but you can feel the beat throughout your body?...
