YES I would talk to him even if he didn't have a photo in their profile. I would be interested in the person NOT HIS IMAGE.
I don't think the photo incorrectly positioned in his profile was done on purpose, he probably had difficulty posting it.
besides, some of the photos correctly positioned are fake anyway or stolen, so ....
