pedro27: no is prefect we all have flaws
I agree with u that no-one is perfect. But not if ur unaccepted imperfection must to be moved to everyone else but urself. They use religion as a crutch and something to blame there faults on. The burden moves to the religion, not them.
pedro27: my joking lie about the age of the pic, was not wrong no...only big lies are wrong no one is prefect!!
A lie is still a lie regardless. Not saying people don't have flaws and not perfect.I've got plenty of flaws myself and nor do I think I'm perfect.
All I'm saying is that once you tell one lie regardless of how small or big it may be you have to tell another lie after another to cover the first one up.Then you have people upset with you cause they found out all along that you were lying.

pedro27: little lies can be forgiven by god!! big lies idk i never told a big lie and never will!!
guilt trips are horrible!!
That is exactly the attitude I am referring to :- U put every problem and wrong doing on God's shoulders, and then u have no guilt for anything bad u have done.

jac_the_gripper: What about all the people who told lies to hide Jewish people, or lied about being Jewish themselves during WWII?
Is the truth so important to you that you think the people who told the Gestapo where Jews were hiding had the moral upper hand?
It it okay to cause death through telling the truth?
I can c the point :-
They had to lie to protect themselves, as a defense mechanism.
In a case like that I could say a lie is acceptable. It is an extreme case. But u must be able to tell lies without blinking, so well practiced lying then to get away with it and not be detected.
you may not lie now but as a child you probably did its part of growing up
Then I must have been the unusual child then cause I knew what would had happened if I had ever lied to my parents.I witnessed one of my older getting caught lying and what the outcome was.Just let me say that he never did it again.

I really meant to other children as kids we all exaggerate I think not full on rubbish but just embellishing things

I don't remember that I ever embellished anything to any of my childhood friends. I didn't have a very normal childhood as other kids often do.I don't even remember having one. After my father had died of a sudden death the same month as my 9 yr old birthday that is when my childhood ended. My mother had to go to work and so I took over some of the responsibilities that my mother would've normally done.Such as cleaning, doing grocery shopping.
When I went fishing as a child with my stepfather I never told fish stories about the fish that got away.
2intrigued: When I was very young, I found an abandoned baby bird and cared for it until it was able to fly. I had planned on letting the bird go but one day I looked for the bird and it was nowhere to be found. My mom explained that she was house cleaning and had the front door open to air the place out and the bird escaped. She lied and why? because she knew it would break my heart to pieces to find out that the bird was dead because she accidentally sat on it. Looking back, I can laugh at this now and I "get" why she lied although I didn't get it when I found out the truth at age 18. I was angry at the time but after I had my own child, I fully understood how a parent might lie to a sensitive child.
2intriged I want to publicly apologize to you for the other night.

I lost my mom when I was 24 and reality of her passing didn't really sink in until days after her burial.
No daniel you don't need to worry cause you have never said anything to ever upset me.

jac_the_gripper: Yeah, looking at extremes are a good way of putting a hypothesis to the test.
If you propose that lying is bad, but an extreme situation demonstrates that in at least one scenario telling the truth would be bad, then you have to rethink your concept of lying always being bad, immoral, or unethical.
The implication is that one must think about one's actions, think about other people's actions and recognise that following over-simplified moral rules like a sheep may lead to amoral actions on your part.
U can ask anyone that know me. I am not in the least a sheep. I am a leader doing thing different to others.
U r always to quick to judge without any knowledge of the person u r trying to down.
