As secretary of state, Hillary Clinton intervened in a request forwarded by her son-in-law on behalf of a deep-sea mining firm to meet with her or other State Department officials after one of the firm's investors asked Chelsea Clinton's husband for help setting up such contacts, according to the most recently released Clinton emails.
The lobbying effort on behalf of Neptune Minerals Inc. came while Clinton — now the leading Democratic presidential candidate — was advocating for an Obama administration push to win Senate approval for a sweeping Law of the Sea Treaty.
The pact would have aided U.S. mining companies scouring for minerals in international waters, but the Republican-dominated Senate blocked it.
Clinton ordered a senior State Department official in August 2012 to look into the request.
Good heavens Purr. Its been all over the news. Here's another link from yahoo finance, but if this one doesn't work for ya, suggest you let your little fingers do the typing. It's easy enough. Just google HILLARY INTERVENES FOR SON-IN-LAW and they will all pop up, from the Denver Post to the Daily News/UK...
epirb: damn silly woman , wonder she does not use twitter for her private stuff . If you are going to curry a favour , you go and see them
I suspect she will make some sort of deal similar to the one Bill made when he got caught and lost his law license. In exchange for admitting he was guilty of perjury and obstruction of justice, and paying a $25,000 fine, the state agreed not to indict him. Everybody saves face and Billy keeps his bacon out of jail.
It's rather a pity that the law works different for the rich, white, one percenters, eh?

Federal ethics guidelines warn government employees to "not give preferential treatment to any private organization or individual," but there are no specific provisions prohibiting officials from considering requests prompted by relatives.
Clinton's willingness to intercede as a result of her son-in-law's involvement is the latest example of how the Clinton family's interests cut across intersecting spheres of influence in American politics, commerce and charity.
purr4mance: if there was something to the story she wouldn't have used her unsecured email. she isn't that stupid.
Seriously , she may not have once as she was smart . I don't think so any more . Much has been made of Reagan's selective amnesia . Similar problem here .

Should we assume she isn't technically stupid/ignorant before the crap hit the fan. I'm half tempted to vote for Bernie if Ted Cruz doesn't get the republican nomination.

"On January 19, 2001, Bill Clinton became the first sitting U.S. president to surrender his law license and acknowledge lying under oath and obstruction of justice in an unprecedented 5-year suspension," according to the Southeastern Legal Foundation (SLF).
The SLF filed the first formal disbarment complaint against Clinton with the Arkansas Supreme Court Committee in 1999.

I believe he is talking about how Hillary tried to get her son-in-law a special favor. Too bad the GOP put a lid on her influence-peddling
