Ccincy: I'm rich in other ways and it has absolutely nothing to do with having money.I don't go to movies I watch what I want on a certain movie channel on cable which offers free movies,I don't eat at diners or fast food places cause I cook all meals from scratch ,don't purchase items which have rebates.
I live on a widows benefits that I receive through my late husbands estate and I own a retail business for home parties.I watch every penny I get and have done pretty good I might say.Just before I left home and before I turned 16 my mother taught me how to manage money and then when I moved away from home at 16 and on my own I put those skills to use.I never asked my mother for a dime. All through High School I was a live in baby sitter to raise money for college.
I didn't just grow up into adulthood I was raised.
i'm happy for you. wise woman that you are. where are the women today with such ethics and standards?
i was on my way, never worried about money and had just about everything. then i was thrown for a major loop. i'm going to lose all of it very soon and i have no control over it. sucks big time. so i admire you ccincy. sounds like you're set.

Thank you purr but my adult life wasn't easy for me either
I'll provide with the short version.
When I had meant and married my late husband all we had between us was a trash bag with our clothing and such.
We moved into an apt and had no furniture only a stove and frig.
Then when our son was born and he was about grade school age we became homeless twice. The first time was because the car dealership that my late had worked for was closed up because the owner didn't pay the taxes.By the way my husband was a computer programmer. He was also a teach in college and was certified by Dell computers to sell their products. When he went to apply for computer jobs he would get told that he was overly qualified.the second time was when a landlord we once hadn't kept up the house we rented so we ended up homeless again.
Anyway he had found a job at a steel company and then that business had been shut down cause that owner didn't pay their taxes.Luckily for us my husband did have a 401k which he was able to cash out on.
So been there done that.
Pretty soon you will know so much about me you could write a book.
