She told him she didnt want to marry him and he throws acid in her face blinding and severly disfiguring her face. I think he is getting off easy sicne they will put him under and he wont feel half the pain she did. I think if more countries practiced the eye for an eye tooth for a tooth justice, we wouldnt see so many crimes such as these. He deserves this and so much more.

I have a far more effective punishment.
Don't let him eat or drink for say 48 hours. then stuff a rag down his throat into his stomache, a sheet will be ideal (the stomach will then grip onto the item for dear life trying to dissolve it) then in one swift movement yank out the cloth and with it his stomach lining.
Cruel effective and terminal.
Worked in the gulags, and its good enough for a scumbag who would do this to another human being as a reproach for his advances.
I'd pour petrol over him and torch him alive myself.

Although I agree with the punishment, I also agree he is getting off lightly having been sedated.

This comment makes me wonder if you are a Christian??? If so, think about this. Do you want to receive the punishment you are worthy of? Your Bible says you are guilty of death! Still feel an eye for an eye.
But to answer your question...I don't care one way or the other what they do in a foreign country. It is none of my business.
The truth is it doesn't really matter, because even if such people escape worldly laws they cannot possibly escape karmic law (which of course has nothing at all to do with "punishment or reward"). Whatever you do to another you do to yourself. Only, the effects cannot be experienced simultaneously with the act. They come "later" but are experienced always in the "present". Yer can't escape yer kaaarma..!

I don't even believe in the word "believe". If you look around you and see all the suffering in the world, you can decide on two possibilities: Either individual human pain and suffering is just by "chance" and can simply happen to anyone at any time for absolutely no reason, or there can be a cause and effect reason behind it. Religion doesn't come into it. A long time ago I really caused someone pain and suffering and it came back to me years later with a vengence. At the time I didn't connect it, but now it's as clear as day. The problem with the word "karma" is that once the idea of it takes hold of you, then it can easily EFFECT your actions either because of the fear of the consequences of doing something "bad" or the greed of wanting a reward for doing something "good". Nijinski, the famous Russian dancer could fly, but once people asked him how he could do it, he became conscious of it and couldn't fly anymore. So you're right, karma is religious nonsense (but it happens anyway!)
pretzelman: Can't say I believe in Karma, either. It is another religious thought!
Mercedes1: So does that mean your not going to heaven?
well i cant say either way till i get there, but from what i have been taught, no i am going to heaven, because i repent from my sins and get gods forgivness. That dosent mean though, if i were to commit a crime like this that i wouldnt have to answer to MAN'S law as well as gods
Mercedes1: I read alot on the middle eastern countries and not many enough are doing the right thing for the oppressed woman up over their!
Your right but they are moving forward, hell in my time in Iraq i saw women go from not even being aloud to go to school to, being in city government. So many are making progress. Its a lot diffrent when you SEE the change instead of reading about it.

I am in full agreement with the implementation of the "eye for an eye" law and I am glad that this woman had the guts to stand up and ask for it to be implemented rather than take blood money and say it's ok what you did to me....

Amen Hugz, if only more countries had the same kind of eye for an eye law
