I enjoy fishing, and learnt to fly fish many years ago.
I mostly enjoy the peace and quiet of it, and used to use it as a form of meditation sometimes. I really dont care if I catch anything or no, its just the joy of being by the water and outside that I like..

Sometimes I go fishing with my pole. Sometimes it just goes on it's own!

Sport fishing,Especially the Fly rod is a highly cerebral contemplative activity.
Dont compare it to tournament or meat fishing.

Problem is, a guy can go fishing with his pole and a six-pack and have a great day. A woman would have to take 2 buddies with her and talk the whole time.

I agree!
Im not keen on the killing the fish part, but the rest of it, I find very peaceful. I enjoy the skill part of fly fishing, and get alot of satisfaction when I cast well..
Not so peaceful when I get it caught in a bush, though!

And, yup, many years ago I enjoyed fishing very much. I used to give most of the fish to the stray cats though. Later I became a vegetarian so obviously I don't do that anymore - I hunt mushrooms instead.

I love fishing tobe outdoors and love the thrill of the catch. As for attracting a man; its not likely as I usually go with my brother.

we have a prehistoric fish called the spoon bill the only way to catch them is snagging, can't eat the dark meat make you sick just white meat but no bones

we have spoonbill here but your not allowed to catch them ! there on the extinct list & will get you a BIG fine !
