how about someone brave enough to just be themselves at the beginning, if you like that, great, if not look somewhere else, theres nothing worse than falling in love with someone that then changes into someone else 6mths later.

Yes, too often people forget the basics that make for a lasting relationship. Well said.

I know that feeling. That happened to me this year ironically. Almost 6 months to the day my boyfriend dumped me and said he changed his mind about being in a relationship, yet he was the one that wanted it. I was devasted.

Thanks. Actually in an odd way, he did me a favour. I found out he had a money problem; he spent more than he had. I lost my job back in May and still had more money than him and he was fully employed. He had cheques bouncing all over the city; I know as a fact as I did his book keeping. Found out he also did drugs as well, so if I had stayed with him not only would I be broke, but may have lost my house. So, looking back I am thankful he is out of my life. I am now fully employed again and life is looking good. I can say I haven't had a lot of luck with guys. The two boyfriends before that abused me one mentally and the other mentally and physically. The second one almost broke my neck as he attacked me from behind and I never saw it coming. I did fight back of course being the military gal I am, but had him arrested and removed from my house. Not that I am complaining, I still count my blessings for the good things in life. So all in all life is pretty good.

No worries. I would never put all you men in the same category. That is just how life goes sometimes. The important thing is when I get knocked down that I get back up and two that I don't bring my past relationships into my new relationships. What good would it do to hold grudges? Ironically, I forgave all three of my exs. I am even on talking terms and friends now with the one that I had arrested. He was an alcoholic and honestly he is a good man until he drinks. He is now sober and thanked me for having him arrested as it forced him to sober up. So, all is good and I feel good and positive. Life is so short and precious to go around hating and holding a grudge.

well navygirl all i need to do is find someone with your outlook here in the land of oz.

It is good to forgive, get over and move on, sometimes its good to remember though, ,, helps to remind yourself if you are starting to make the same mistakes again,,, then you can give yourself a slap to wake up,,,, or maybe give yourself a kick with those steel caps....he he

its good to see that your not ready to die,, i dont think your town would be big enough for all us people to come to your funeral...

I hope you too will meet that special guy. I like to see nice guys find their true happiness. Yeah, I am a hopeless romantic. Hey, when I die, it will be one hell of a party. I actually have that stipulated in my will. I want people to remember me for all the funny things that happened in my life. However it will be a long time before I die because only the good die young so that is why I stay naughty. LOL Santa keeps bringing me lumps of coal which is good for this -30 weather we were having. laugh

Sorry it rained on you but at least its warm rain. I am sitting down now and having a glass of wine as majority of housework is done. Just hate having a dusty house as I a bit of a neat freak. Thanks for the kind compliments. You are a very nice guy.

gazz101: Sounds good, but having looked on dateing sites, so many people seem to have a list soooo long as to what they want, they will die before they find that magical person that fills that list.Honest.
happy.
Believes in equality,my list is small.everything else will just fall into place if its right.

I don't expect someone to be perfect just some ideas I put down.
