Hi Robert..I have stayed away from the forums for the most part.. alot going on in my life, but so nice to see you.. well in a manner of speaking.. and I do hope that you are doing well my friend..

For me it means that the person regards himself/herself as average, nothing more. Then they can be skinny or fat from my point of view... but we all have got some point of view, don’t we?
I chose “average” on my profile as I like to think about myself in that way. If some people think that I’m not “qualified” for that description it’s their opinion. (And should I care?)
It means that you are free to imagine whatever size you please.

People who look like skeletons are NOT healthy.
People who are obese are not healthy.
Luckily most of us our somewhere in between....... if we find we're getting too thin we need to put on a little weight and if we're beginning a saggy six pack we need to lose a few pounds too.
Shame on the really obese, when so many are starving to death!
I DO believe we have different metabolic rates..... but the fact is we can't increase or decrease our weight unless we consume more or less calories than we burn!

It depends on what part of the world the "Average" is stated.
When the choices are skinny, average, overweight, etc I usually go with average. But when it's skinny, slim, average and overweight I go with slim.
I always thought average actually meant average. A normal, healthy weight. Not anorexic, but definitely not fat either.
Like when profiles ask you to rate your own attractiveness. If you say you think you're attractive, doesn't that make you a bit full of yourself? And if you put unattractive, then you're apparently lacking in confidence. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder anyway.
Some people tell me I'm heaps skinny. Some people tell me I'm a bit chubby. I think it depends on who you're telling it to. So maybe average is seen as a safe choice for people who are unsure like I am?

People that put average in their profile are almost all ways over weight , saying that being over weight is just about average , there are defiantly a lot of people that are way over average and should not of gone near using that with a ten foot barge poll , there should be an option “look at my pick and judge for your self “
