nytebyrdfun: Ignorance perpetuates ignorance and no amount of money or education has worked to cure that yet...If we can simply get rid of ignorance, I vote for that.
gingerb: Even worse. People died to give you that privelege.
There is a saying that the poor of America are the poorest in the world because they have become convinced that their voice does not matter....anyone who doesn't vote forfeits their right to gripe in my book.
And on another comment, haven't you guys heard, there is no such thing as common sense..lol
Grandepensees: Money on that level is a bunch of zeros in a computer... The lack of money isn't the cause of ignorance, the lack of correct information is the cause.
Flipped on the news lately? So many countries have a real poverty problem. If they had money, the could have schools. They could send their kids to schools. In school, the kids would LEARN and there they would start to obtain the correct information thus eliminating their ignorance. If there were no need for money, each country could fix its own problems.
It does not matter how many zeros a computer can tack onto a number. OP gave us the question of which ONE to ELIMINATE WORLDWIDE. If money were not an issue, much could be accomplished.
Grand billionaire are famous for giving away tons of money. They do this because they don't need it. They do this to help with poverty, education/ignorance so people can fix their own problems and build a better world.
Think about it, if you never had to worry about money again, wouldn't you do something different than you have been doing. Wouldn't you contributed and participate to build a better world.
And for all of you out there reading this thread, please look up the word ignorance and the word stupidity. They are way different.

Then why do we say it if there isn't one?
As for the poor, if he had a choice, Bush would have never been elected

I've heard all that before, it never changes and never will. I can PROMIS you that. That's all I have to say about that.

I think there are many countries where ignorance is considered bliss, especially for their governments. When other things are advertised as being important for survival, then the value of a true education and how to use it is lost.
Some countries might as well practice book burning, because the population are hobbled to a crippling degree by lack of access to the information on what really matters, and more importantly , how to use it.

Try that logic on all the lottery winners who are broke because they didn't have the "knowledge" to manage their money. Throwing money at an issue as complex as ignorance is....well..it's just ignorant. It demonstrates a "lack of knowledge and understanding" of the entire picture.
My opinion remains the same. Although, if stupidity had been option, I would have voted for it first and ignorance second. I would never have voted for throwing money at anything.
somechick: Anyone who's really niave enough to trust/fall for what the Dems/Repub say/do I could question their IQ as well.
I fear you may be missing the point. As long as people are focused in any way at all on the so-called political parties, they are distracted....a very dangerous place for citizens to be but a nifty little comfort zone for the politicians.

I say "we", but I've never voted
Well, once, I was 18 and it was for city council or some damn thing
