passiongal: I cant wrap my head around a lot of these break ups that people have and the relationships that they get into. If you can't even be friends before you get into the relationship, how do you expect anything between you to work. I have a great relationship with my ex as well as his family and he with mine!

What does it say about a person that just demeans and belittles the one they were with. I think you look worse than the person you bad mouth. Life happens and love these days, seems to be "spread upon" to easily! Have respect for yourself and the one's you've laid next to. Maybe our children will follow that example!

Well written.wine

Laura25: Many people think of a cheater in a similar fashion, Antoniacv.
And rightfully so.Did you and your new man{the guy you were dating} go separate way because he didn't understand?

Unfortunately , yes....he couldn't understand why me and my ex were so close....We are still
He broke up with his gf at that time as well... same reason...she couldn't understand why is he so close to me

We don't even think abt being together or anything...theres no such a love between us...at all...just .. as i told ya before. ... we care abt eachother a lot ...as friends...

Anyways , seems that sooner or later we gonna stop seeing eachother bcoz noone else (his gf or my bfs) understand the situation....
awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
But its life :)dunno

Laura25: For whatever reason the relationship is over and you two went separate ways.

So, my question is this:

how do you relate to your ex?

What works for you and why?

And for those who remain good friends with their ex --

why? I mean, what are the reasons you'd want to maintain an "ex-friendship(s)"?

Oh, and to avoid any misunderstandings --

friendship, to me, is based on emotion like liking, on certain degree of social commitment and regular interactions, sharing enjoyable activities and much-much more.
a clean break the only time she calls me, is when the rent is due.doh

After reading some of these posts, my old impression of the modern marriage proposal of "Will you be my fist wife?" will change to be "Will you be my first ex wife?"...

An ex is an ex for a reason and should always remain an ex.
