Steve5721: Not many people die or have health issues from a reputable artist! One fail safe way is to make sure that NEW sterile needles are always removed from an autoclave bag in front of you.
Unfortunately the virus HCV can actually live in the ink
And the equipment the needle hooks up to can easily be contaminated as well.

Yes Ive got 3.. 2 on my back which I can hide, and mine and my daughters initials on my inner wrist.. that one is special to me, as she picked the font and was with me when I had it done, I had it done when she moved to the UK last year... when she flew the nest...
Yes, I have three tattoos, two are spiritual, and one represents total freedom. One of the best decision I ever made. I also plan on getting more in the near future. However I am planning on designing the rest of my tattoos myself.

The ink is poured into small wells and each are thrown away at the end of the session. The same ink is never used for 2 tattoos, so that is never a problem. The stem of the tattoo gun is screwed off and sterilised also, and a new sterile one used for the next customer. Sorry mate, but if you go to a real professional you simply do not have to worry about these things!

You are totally correct. They use a autoclave to sterilize the equipment. They use these types of machines in hospitals for surgical utensils. If thats not safe then what is?!
Sebastino: What do you think about tattoos, do you like it or dislike it, do you have any and if you don't, are you planning to have one and why? do you like people with tattoos or hate them, are you comfortable hanging out with a guy or woman with lots of tattoos?
I don't have any tattoo's and do not ever plan to get any, but I don't mind my man having any. I think of tatoo's as more of a man thing, Yep I am old fashioned, but I am happy if he doesn't have any as well.
BoyracerBMW: Don't like 'em, won't have them, don't want them, because I think they look ridiculous on old people, and one day I will be an old people.
My mother told me to promise to tell everyone when I'm old that she bought my tattoo for me for christmas, even when its a nastfied blob, it will of always been worth it.

I am thinking of getting my favorite quote on one side of my collar bone going to my shoulder.
I don't have a tattoo.Needles and pain for me are a big problem as I'm an empath so I'm hyper sensitive. Have considered getting a small Celtic Cross done on my shoulder blade but still not sure I want to mar the flesh canvas at this stage in life.
I'm really proud of the summer tan I've got though.

I always wanted a certain Brian Froud fairy. I also always wanted some of Tolkien's elvish runes.
