gentlepaws: A vote for Indyfella for president would put a sensible car in every driveway, a Visa card at .05%, a war on hypocrites , but best of all; a woman or man to have breakfast with.
Were I able to attend, I wouldn't, so my way of boycotting will be NOT to watch the games on television, or is that what you all mean by boycotting anyway???
shipoker55: no...I wouldn't. I try to choose my battles. This isn't my business. I know that's not the PC thing to say....but I have never cared about PC!!!

Hugz_n_Kissez: They sure did for all the kids that were abused....NOT for the 50,000 kids that never came home...NOT a word or not a dime or not an apology to their families..NOTHING but silence!!!!!!!Yeah so that makes it ok..that every nation has blood on their hands..NOT for me!!!!!!!!

Hugz_n_Kissez: That's not even close to what I'm talking about...it's what occurred afterward....50,000 children being murdered would be unheard of in any other country...BUT it's not talked about when it comes to the wonderful counry called Canada!!!!!!!!!
How would Canada deal with another country that had a track record even close to their own...kinda hypocritical when you think about it!!!!!!!!
judd28: how about the level of pollution over there Haille Gabresaillaise(excuse the spelling), the world record holder of the fastest time for running the marathon, and favourite to win the same event at the Olympics, has withdrawn from the event because of his concern for his health in the polluted Beijing He will run in the much shorter !0,000 metres race. Seems like there are many reasons for boycotting the Olympics
I'm not keeping any hate going...Just stating facts...its like people never want to hear the truth unless it's about some other country is what I'm saying...Well I don't believe in covering up the truth...especially since it has yet to be rectified....

There is such a thing as the ''Spirit of the Olympic Games''. In Ancient Olympia wars were suspended and death sentences could not be carried out for the duration of the Games.
The effort atheletes make to excel/surpass their physical selves are sacred, imo, and their road is long. Very often there is no second chance to compete/prove themselves. The Games used to be considered sacred too. Even now, you all know, there is no greater honour than to have been an Olympic Champion. I myself, believe the athletes competing deserve to be honoured with our presence, our support and our recognition..... at the very least.
Traditionally the Olympics promoted fellowship and peace. I don't believe they should be used for political/human rights purposes, even ones of such great significance.....
I hope you all won't think that I'm putting the Olympic Games above the tragic plight of the peoples of this world..... 'Cause I'm not. I just think they should be kept separate.
