opentuit: It's a good example of Love... or a good example of a Romantic? I think of Romantics as being people who believe in the impossible, like love will "fix" everything, especially by finding his/her "one and only soulmate" and doing everything "right."
I see myself as more of an Idealist because I want to make the world a better place, or least the parts of the world that I impact by "being." I have no illusions that it's going to "fix" people or cause any form of fairy tale perfection to manifest. There is no happily ever after; there is only life. And it's messy sometimes. I accept that. And I love because.... because I can.... and because I believe in its goodness regardless of the outcome.
Does that make me a Romantic??
