Amity: In what sense do you mean?

in my limited understanding, i am tempted to believe that men, in general, would like women to rely(for the lack of a better word) on men so that they could display some sense of responsibilities to women..dunno

In a civilized 21st Century most men find a woman relying on them as clingy and run away.

It is not an issue, but a fact. And no, I am not saying that the Western culture is different from the rest of the world. Many other cultures are different from your culture. Such are Chinese, Japanese, Eastern European and so on. It is a fact of life.

I am not quite convinced because i believe that the 'fundamentals' that define and shape up relationship between a man and woman is same all over the world. But i absolutely respect your take on cultural aspect.wave

Imagine if a man's insecurities were compatible with the insecurities of a woman. No one is perfect, especially those who think they are.

All people are insecure about various parts of of their being and some of that pertains to being a man or being a woman.

If you embrace the imperfections of another and love them as they are I think that would only serve to bring out the best in a person.

I guess years ago men were brought up to feel responsible to be the head of the family,it was always classed as being the man's role to be in control of the affair's of the world, years ago women were deemed to put up and shut up,i guess that sometimes our young Prince William wishes that he didnt have the responsibility that is going to fall on him when he becomes king,i personally would like any man of mine to be responsible for me...well...just a little after all im menopausal grin bouquet

Well, if you are asking whether men like to feel needed, then I think the answer is yes. We all like to feel needed and appreciated. It's hard to answer this question because I think not all men are the same, and it depends on what insecurities in women you are referring to. Do you even MEAN insecurities, or do you mean vulnerabilities? I agree with previous poster re: liking that feeling of being protected by a man. It doesn't mean I can't take care of myself, but there are some aspects of a man that women don't have, and which I like and appreciate!!!! wine

No, men do not like to deal with insecurities. They have their own hidden ones. Like being dealing with hunting season...Most are like "Elmer Fudd". "A hunting we will go, a hunting we will go. Goodess gwacious, gonna get me a dewewishous wawbit"

ya..perhaps vulnerabiliies would be a better word. And if it is all about 'opposite attracts', then why men and women will attract each other if the both genders feel, talk, walk, laugh, and look the same way?laugh dunno
