As long as i can look at myself in the mirror every morning and like what i see...i could care less what others think.I know who i am,the kind of person i am.
I will listen to other peoples opinions,but i think a person can be harder on their self's,then outsiders.So i look at it this way,if you don't pay my light bill and your are not sleeping with me,then i could careless what you think.

Agree, and it shows that one is not fitting into society very harmoniously if one is pissing 50% of it off !

It does matter what they have to say and I can take constructive criticism.
I was talking about those who are not close to me or I them.

I most certainly do not think what family or close friends think of me as nonsense whatsoever, whether I like what they have to say or not.
With regards to people I do not know, well hell no I simply dont give a damn. They mean nothing to me.

Folk seem to assume that another's opinion is going to be negative...what does that say?
I take on board positive and negative opinions and assess them on their own merit.
To believe, or disbelieve every opinion without evaluation is foolish, especially as different people's opinions can be contradictory.
Perhaps what people mean, is that they don't let other's opinions affect their cognitions to the point where its detrimental.
