vinny1967: That, on its own is not a pack attack to me. I suppose its people's perceptions and we all differ. I do know its an easy defense mechanism for some people
One example to me, its when people start to attack the poster, in numbers, instead of questioning their stance/argument because it differs to their stance or belief. Too many times I have seen it where are used in response to a valid point. Some people think the more they post, no matter what it is, the better argument they have and think they are 'winning'.People join in for whatever reason, maybe to get a laugh or to ally themselves with a particular poster. Attacking the poster and insulting them is easy, but people forget there are real people behind the screen with real feelings.
Im good ta
I agree to a certain point, Ive seen people contradict themselves in order to fall in with the "in" crowd but Ive also seen threads deleted soley because the original OP made some absurd, comment merely guaranteed to incite the masses, then when the majority respond in the negative the whole shebang is classed..on the odd occasion the mods post something, as being a pack attack...surely people should be given an ounce of credence for possesing a little common sense and decency?
I have been guilty of making a mistake in a post I made. I apologized and yet the tarring and feathering continued. I'm not comparing it to World War II but I wonder, how much sense does it make to tar and feather someone when there are wars all over the world, a recession that has caused people to lose homes, bank accounts and their pride. Why doesn't the poster just get a slap on the hand for their mistake.
Wikipedia definition: Tarring and feathering is a physical punishment, used to enforce unofficial justice. It was used in feudal Europe and its colonies in the early modern period, as well as the early American frontier, mostly as a type of mob vengeance (compare Lynch law). Today the act is considered a barbaric form of punishment.

We all make mistakes, please do not worry about it.
Do not explain yourself, your friends do not need it and your enemies will not accept it.
I dont give a flying ferret whether what i say is agreeable or not. What i wont do,is put my opinion forward in an ignorant, rude or bombastic way.It is only my opinion after all,and i am not always right! Its only the internet, its not important.
I just blithely sing my little "I AM SO GREAT" song and go on my merry little way.
I am just me and it does not bother me if you like me, hate me, argue with me or ignore me. I think along the same lines as others do, I don't think along the same lines as others, it's all just groovy.
