NoeloD076: Honestly Chemistry, here is my take on my experiences.
Been to two, first in Drogheda second this past weekend in Dublin.
First one i had a great time, just thought of it as going to me local to meet friends. And it was great meeting the people who i had been chatting to on here.
Second one was different, was kind of a last minute decission to go and needed a clear head for yesterday so took the car and stayed on the dry. I'm not an alco, far from it.......but it just wasn't the same as the first one. I'm kind of a shy bloke and being sober in a pub at a CS meet didn't feel like the brightest move i have ever made. Don't get me wrong, the people i met were sound, all lovely chatty people....i was just out of me comfort zone....it happens....thats life.....I will live and learn and go to a CS meet again.
i know what you mean , you would need something to give you courage
I think people that have never been to a meet are misled a wee bit too.
I was only at one, but it was just like a normal night out in the pub......chat to someone, go and mingle, or like me, stay within 6 feet of the bar all night
