Or maybe it's that common sense has just become an oxymoron. As we, here in 2011 teeter on the edge of the abyss, everyone seems to sound and carry on as normal. This doesn't strike me as sense being very common at all.

Haven't watched the clip but sounds like you've had some unloving experiences ...
A woman can never be overly motherly as long as she doesn't smother the children AND she's still in touch with being a woman, a girl, a lover. The first few weeks after having a baby though, she's probably focussing on just being a mother for obvious reasons IE baby needs attention 24/7.
