Considering the number of people here for purposes other than dating and relating it almost seems senseless to be here looking for love or... .. the one..
Yes... So with all this and that in mind; I'm not looking for anything, but someone to bounce ideas off, among other things.. May be get a few laughs?
"Loves just a waste of our energy and this life's just a waste of our time. So why don't we get together we could waste everything tonight. And we could waste, and we could waste it all... yeah.." ~Jack Johnson. Wasting Time
Question is... What do you think you're doing here?
C'mon... Say whatever you want..

I agree with you Jack, it's senseless to be looking here for love or "the one". Although 31% of the votes say they are looking for love, 18% Friendship and only 2% wanting to get laid in my experience being on this site for three years I have found that 95% of those I've met are looking to get laid. Therefore, I don't think the voters here are being honest. Which brings us to the 7% who think they are wasting time. In my experience I've not found love or friendship here. But I keep hoping.
My attempt at mixing a bit of humor with reality... always..
And I don't think voters are dishonest, more disillusioned coming in thinking this should be easier. Many misfit or otherwise jaded one way or another in RL, now on-line no more aware of what they want, much less what they're doing..
I met one woman recently that said she had multiple personalities, and I had to ask 'which one did I kiss?'

You know Judy, even the idea of making 'friends' has been distorted by the cast of the net, so to speak; so many possibilities to maintain written correspondence is nearly impossible though many try. And I get friend requests from across the globe, some may be sincere, most without any interaction, regardless, I ignore them all. I don't want to be labeled by friends..
Curious... with this and that in mind.. What do you think if a profile you may want to respond to also includes as 'friends' dodgy characters from East Europe, the middle east and Asia?
What Shakespeare play is this quote from 'Love is the most beautiful of dreams and the worst of nightmares'?
Jack, I don't respond to requests from outside my local area. If I wanted to meet someone it would be impossible due to distance. I did try a few times and found them to be scammers which waste my time. I've also been contacted by those who say they are local and upon further contact found them to be not who they say they are. I have met a few sincere people here so that's why I still have hope for finding a friend.
"Theres a world we've never seen. Theres still hope between the dreams. The weight of it all could blow away with a breeze. If you're waiting on the wind don't forget to breathe.." ~Jack Johnson. All At Once

What makes you think people from these areas are 'dodgier' than people from , let's say, Minnesota?
Anyway, to me, 'friends' on CS are not random people who request Friend Requests, but people I have actually interacted with, and like, both on and offline.

Hi Molly... good of you to pay a visit..
Not dodgier, I would say as dodgy as anywhere... I've noticed more than a few from Ireland..
And you're right, friends are people I actually interact with.. and that was my point..
