I once had to take a cab in NY city in the afternoon, it's been the spookiest experience i ever had. My driver was a HUGE guy from Jamaïca .... he was massive and impressive but cool, knew a few words of french and i could speak creole, so it all ended in a big laugh ! Good memories
My second odd experience in a taxi was not in North America but in Tunisia, where i had to accompany a good friend of mine just for 3 days. It's been extremely risky and dangerous as the driver's attitude was obviously problematical ... to say the least !

On the other hand the nice feeling that I get when helping others make up for the few who try to scam or whatever. It is relatively safe in my city.
