It is nice to see you are okay. When I first heard of the attack, I right away thought of the members from Jakarta who are on this site and how nice they are. Your city certainly did not deserve that...not that anyone does. Hopefully the people behind the attack can be stopped. Stay safe, and I wish you all the best.
I feel the peaceful world will step together and unit and ultimately defeat this senselessness.
SR, there is certainly nothing wrong with who you are and what you believe. As people, we all have a right to that. I am not here to criticize but to share my opinion. I am a believer that things are not as simple as black and white and right or wrong. In my opinion, you are either with me or either against me are polar opposite extremes. Me, I choose to realize there is some gray in between.
But, by all means, take a stand in what you believe in.
Ken, I noticed locally here that the theaters are starting to show some movies that were made in China. I went and seen one, for something different, and I would do it again. It was enjoyable. This one you talk about seems interesting. I will keep an eye out for it.
What you say does make sense. There were people talking about how they had rashes and they were losing hair. One lady says she has to wear fake eyelashes now because when she lost them all, they didn't grow back the way they were before. For the water to be as discolored as much as they described, I agree with you. Solder joints, I don't think, would do that much destruction.
Z...to believe that it was deliberately done, one would have to believe the people who done it have absolutely no sense of remorse, ethics, or humanity in their bones. I know these type of people exist and they say that these people thrive in business and politics.
There are locals in Flint protesting for Snyder's arrest. Hopefully the bureaucratic levels can be dissected enough to expose who was really at fault...but I doubt it....those are there for a reason.
I am guessing what you are talking about is like welding where the fumes from the heat rise up into your face. Welding has horrible effect to the lungs from breathing that stuff in. In my opinion, I would not be surprised if later you found out your C.O.P.D. was caused from your job, but have fun, I would think you employer would not want to be held liable.
Geez Robert....I am on the phone again. My step-nephew just called...not only that, I need to get ready for a meeting I have in an hour. But, I will be on a little bit later on today. Sorry again. :( ....or :)
I like these phones that you can turn the speak-phone up high....I can shower and talk on the phone at the same time.
Ken...to my knowledge, I do not think the pipes themselves are made of lead. I think it is the lead they used in the solder. But, maybe some of the pipes are solid lead. But anyway, the lead from the solder is what they are claiming is the culprit.
One of the guest on the radio show I was listening to last night was saying that because the pipes were put in the ground such a long time ago, nobody really kept record of what sort of pipes were used. She was saying, chance are if you called your water supply company they would not know what type of pipes you have near your home. So maybe there are some solid lead pipes.
Robert....that is hilarious. I had heard about California and the rain they are getting. Good for you guys. Hopefully it doesn't wash you guys away. If so, Pepps and I could probably sell you guys some tents.
I don't know the history of Flint but it probably got its name from the flint stone. I know there is a lot of Native American history around here.
Pepps....that is a good question. I would not be surprised if they are still receiving water bills. However, I am not sure how many of the residents are paying it. The government is just starting to provide the citizens with bottled water and bringing in tankers, but this assistance is only reaching a small portion of the population. They say that many people living in Flint do not have cars so reaching this healthy water is difficult. In other words, they still may have to use that bad water.
SR, I just seen all but Joy on your list. They were all pretty good. As usual with Quintan, his movie The Hateful Eight was interesting. It is nearly 3 hours long but you do not notice its length once watching it. A sign to me that it was pretty good. :)
But with compensation, the host/guest on the radio show I listened to figured there were going to be many law suits. Hopefully fairness prevails and they do get what they deserve.
Thanks for the historical background with plumbing. I was not aware that some states prohibited any sort of lead for drinking water. Here in Michigan, I thought that was okay...of course I have seen everything else you mentioned...but I have not heard of wood. That is interesting about Rome though.
I am not sure what sort of chemical they should have treated the Flint River water with before running it through the pipes, but you might be right with the chemicals you have mentioned...at least it makes sense. I find it hard to believe that the local government did not know to treat the new water before running it through. But, who knows I guess.
In my opinion, it is unbelievable that this happen in the first place. I grew up always drinking well water...of course having it tested to make sure it was good. Now living in a bigger city where city water is our only choice, I only drink bottled water now. Showering with city water even makes me a little uneasy. Maybe I should move back to my well water? :)
Well....if you are going to get a little cut of it. Perhaps you have some numbers? I need 5 numbers...anywhere from 1 to 69....and then 1 more number from that same range.
I have been living in my new location for the last 4 years. I was from a very rural area and always heard about the high crime rate in Flint, so I never really went there until this past year or so. I have driven through there a couple of times and have been to its outskirts and suburbs.
I enjoyed the read. I wonder when people say third eye...are they talking about a third eye on our forehead that looks like the eyes we have right now? I am guessing the third eye did not look anything like the eyes we have now.
I also like the last part about evolution and people being placed here. Like evolution, it is also theorized that we have been placed here by aliens. We are sort of their crop here on Earth.

Nice to see you Legs. Thanks for your comment.
