RE: Advise please

When people think of working on a farm they think they are going to be living a wholesome life because they are working the earth. They romanticize it. If you know the hard work that is required to work a rarm to fruition and your father will stand by you to train you properly, that is all in your favor.

BUT, if it were me, I'd keep the job I have. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. The job you have is steady. You still delivery papers when it rains but you can't work the farm if it rains day after day.

I would stay in this job and work the farm when you're delivering newspapers even to the point of getting up as early as your father does. This way you'll be in training while still getting a paycheck delivering newspapers. When you or your father feels that you are ready to make the farm your life, then quit the newspaper business.

Give it a lot of thought before you quit this job...cheers

RE: Southern man

A man doesn't have to be from a southern state of the U.S. to be respectful to a woman. He learns to respect people from his parents, particularly his father. IF the father respected his own mother then he will teach his child. Child rearing years are what make you who you are...bouquet

Irene is in New Jersey & New York

Hey R. Thanks for your good wishes..heart wings

The Governor of New Jersey said 500,000 people are without electricity and is claiming that the destruction is in the billions of dollars.

The wind is picking up now.

The Lincoln Tunnel is starting to flood because of the East River going over it's banks. That is very scary cause if the water does damage to the tunnel and causes a breach the whole darn river could go into lower New York City.

I'll keep the blogs updated as long as I have power...hug

RE: Hurricane Irene

Holly....you were right on with everything you said.

News a minute ago said the death toll has been raised to 9.

It has started raining hard here with slight wind.

Another hour and the wind will get worse but the brunt of storm won't hit until midnight EST.

It's only a category 1 but from what I've learned it's not the number of the category that makes it a death trap.

They are saying once it leaves NJ and NY it will be down to a tropical storm. But still, that doesn't mean it can't bring damage and flooding to those north of me.

I think New York will survive the wind because of the tall buildings but lower Manhattan which is on the Hudson River is going to get flooded. True it's only water, but with the recession people don't need 8 and 10 feet of water in their homes and businesses.

Okay, back to your regularly scheduled program guys....hug

RE: Hurricane Irene

I usually post in the forms but lately there has been too much talk about things that cause arguments.

So I came to blogs thinking it would be fun. I found people to be kind, fun and understanding and I thought I'd hang around to see how you guys relate to each other..conversing

What I didn't expect was someone to say that a storm that has killed people, destroyed homes, cars and created fear is just a joke.

I am not a confrontational person and so I will not respond to him directly but I will say ....you will not have the last laugh......what goes around, comes around..

I don't wish any harm to him but I lived in Florida and I know how bad a hurricaine can get. I hope he doesn't ever experience the worry of the roof of his house blowing off.

He has not forced me to leave. He's just made me see that arrogant people live in the blogs as well as the forums...

G'nite all....bouquet

RE: Hurricane Irene

I have to leave for a bit.

Will try to check back in later...angel

RE: Hurricane Irene

@ Yash....The tree I am most concerned about will fall directly on my kitchen which has a flat roof. That being said, my kitched will have a tree in it.

Another tree will also fall onto the roof of the kitchen from a different angle.

There is a monster tree with a trunk about 30 inches across. I don't think that will fall in the direction of the house. If it does it will hit the apartment in the front of the house and not me.....hopefully.

I don't have flood insurance but my landlord undoubtedly has insurance on the property. However, this is Mother Nature a/k/a an act of God so I don't think he or I will get any insurance payments.

And both tree will fall on my new car....crying

RE: confident or arrogant

I think people who are arrogant, speak with a sharp tongue. They feel superior to everyone else and show that attitude thinking it appears as intelligence when in fact, it's sarcasism.

Confident people speak to a peple with respect because they don't have to prove anything. They believe in themselves and have nothing to prove.

RE: dates

So you've "fallen in love" with someone you never met. No disrespect to you but, how'd you do that? Did you believe everything he said and then when you met him realized it was a waste of time and money. doh Suggestion: skype with him for awhile until you think you want to meet him but keep the wall up before you do down that road of convincing yourself that you are in love with the words on your computer screen..teddybear

RE: first love

I agree with you and posted that very same thing in the forums today.

A man in the forums is widowed and was wondering if he will ever find love again. I told him that he probably will but it won't be the same kind of love he had the first time.

Even in cases of divorce, if he/she was your first true love, the love you had with that person was pure and honest. It doesn't matter that you divorced that person. The love you had at first is what counts.

RE: somedays i just dont want to get out of bed

Stop complaining. At least you have a job to get tired from.devil

RE: Lying about age????

I was born 1942. You figure out the math.

RE: very depressed

@ feelinglost....You made me smile. That was very funny..laugh

RE: Bitter Sweet Love Game

@ Virgo. Definitely love your new pic. If I didn't just have dinner I would be craving for the sandwich...

RE: One for the Women on CS , Who's the most romantic

The guys hide their romantic attributes. They flirt, tease and even make off color remarks but I've never seen any man in the forums be openly romantic with another poster.

Having said that I think Vinny, RDM and T4 are probably very romantic in private.....but I wouldn't know...blushing

RE: mind your own business

It's a normal day in the forums for people not to agree with you but they don't leave it at that. I personally don't care if someone doesn't agree with me and I care less if someone doesn't like me. I see it as a waste of time to try to win the approval of people in cyberspace who don't even know you... bouquet

RE: TEXT MESSAGES!!!!!I

Nope, they are intentionally avoiding you, keeping you at a distance. I was in email with a guy who would only call me at certain times of the day. One day I called him and all hell broke lose. You know the story....he was married...doh You are probably one of many he is texting. Don't mean to hurt your feelings but that's how I see it. You will feel better if you dump him rather than he dumping you. bouquet

RE: is it wrong to help out my ex-wife

If you know she will use the money for the phone bill, give it to her. I think the bigger question is why isn't she able to pay the phone bill. Is she getting child support or alimony? Does she work? Is she frugal or does she spend her time at the mall. And why is it only the phone bill that she can't pay. Keep in mind, once you help her financially she will always think of you when she gets in a bind. I asked my ex-husband one time to help me with car repairs and he did because we were the best of friends after our divorce. I don't want to get in your personal business but maybe you need to sit down and have a talk with her to find out what's going on. Maybe she needs to learn how to budget her money..wine
