If your statement is vaguely true then all I can contribute this tragedy to is years and years of brainwashing of the population that money has no equivalent and that all problems big and small is solved by money and more money. There is no leader that's truly interested in the local population and its woes, only money. It will only take time and then this absolute obsession with money and the complete disregard of human suffering and life, locally and abroad, will be the downfall of a once great nation.

The way I see it is that a Senator is asking the head of the Human Rights (I think she is) a simple question. I have no idea who Ted Cruz is or what his political affiliation is.
