We are The Xennials

We were born in the 40's-50's-60's.
We grew up in the 50-60-70's.
We studied in the 60-70-80's.
We were dating in the 60's-70-80-90's.
We got married and discovered the world in the 60-70-80-90's.
We venture into the 80-90.
We stabilized in the 2000s.
We got wiser in the 2010s.
And we are going firmly through and beyond 2020.

Turns out we've lived through EIGHT different decades...
TWO different centuries...
TWO different millennia...

We have gone from the telephone with an operator for long-distance calls to video calls to anywhere in the world,
We have gone from slides to YouTube, from vinyl records to online music, from handwritten letters to email and Whatsapp."
From live programs on the radio, to black and white TV, and then to HD TV.
We went to the Video store and now we watch Netflix.
We got to know the first computers, punch cards, diskettes and now we have gigabytes and megabytes in hand on our cell phones or IPad.
We wore shorts throughout our childhood and then long pants, oxfords, Bermuda shorts, etc.
We dodged infantile paralysis, meningitis, polio, H1N1 flu and now Sars COV-19.
We rode skates, tricycles, invented cars, bicycles, mopeds, gasoline or diesel cars and now we ride hybrids or 100% electric.
Yes, we've been through a lot but what a great life we've had!
They could describe us as “exennials”; people who have had an analog childhood and a digital adulthood.

We have “Seen-It-All”!
Our generation has literally lived through and witnessed more than any other in every dimension of life.
It is our generation that has literally adapted to “CHANGE”.
A big round of applause to all the members of a very special generation.

When you look...it's already six in the afternoon; when you look...it's already Friday; when one looks...the month is over,
When one looks...the year is over; when one looks...50, 60 and 70 years have passed!
When you look...we no longer know where our friends have gone.
When you look...we maybe lost the love of our life and now, it's too late to go back.

SO…
Do not stop doing something you like due to lack of time.
Do not stop having someone by your side. Your children will soon not be yours and you will have to do something with that remaining time, where the only thing that we are going to miss will be the space that can only be enjoyed with the usual friends.
The time , which unfortunately, never returns...

*The day is today!* Carpe Diem ! * (Seize the day!)

*WE ARE NO LONGER AT AN AGE TO POSTPONE ANYTHING.*

No matter how old you are we all still have ability to make the connections back to the time when we were in our prime, probably ours 30s and 40s would be the prime times in our lives...

I hope most people can still remember when they were in their prime, most peoples bodies will still remember that time...
Your blog should be published in every magazine and media. No truer summation has ever been said. Yet, when I think of my parents and the change they saw, it surpasses ours. We grew up in one of the kindest, peaceful, plentiful eras. The new gens won't have it. I see much of what is new, is built on what is old. Da'Vinchi designed so much of it. Just took later gens to figure out how to make it happen. We still have future to see. Hopefully peaceful.
You know what Soccrates ( that you are)..I have printed it out so I can keep it at hand for the future!thumbs up bouquet
I wouldn't opt for those prime times as for been the best years...
for me, I'd rather never forget how it felt being 16/17, young and stupid without a care in the world.
But I suppose each to our own, Butch wine

I am happy that you found the blog useful and made a copy for future reference.

cheers
Best not to go back to the crazy teenage years i don't think many of us were in an aware frame of mind at that time in our lives, 30s and 40s maybe starting to have sense of awareness...

At times i hear of some older relations taking themselves back to when they were kids and acting that way at times, then maturity/reputation steps in and they snap out of it..
Superb.thumbs up cheers

Maybe add:
We will be the first and last to survive a nuclear war if this trend carries on as it is.

Some of us were born in the 1930's. We have done it all and seen it all. We are the Wise Ones.

The modern under 30 children haven't got a clue what life is all about. As the planet degrades and society disintegrates the children will find out what life is about. But then it will be too late for them.
Don't forget outerspace. We saw man land on the moon. We take pictures of Mars, etc. Hopefully in my lifetime it is proven we are not alone.

Wonderful blog applause
We may have come a long way but, unfortunately through all of our evolution we still have not overcome our ability to get along or there would not be the continuous crime and chaos we see in the news. We can determine the quality of human behavior and evolution of life by the criminals it houses. In spite of the few who act up in a bad way there has been tremendous strides of human development in medical, space, computer technology.

Now, we even have AI to eventually be the norm of relationships between people. Hence, websites like this will be passe, old hat, and useless.

Then let us not forget our ability to take perfectly good freaks and turn them into different freaks like those who want sex changes bc they are just tired of the role or body they were born with. professor
We also ran with scissors, didn't wear seat belts, & sucked leaded gasoline exhaust..
P S...in Texas, we didn't have childhood - we had the Nam...[ .aka Vietnam war.
All the things humans have experienced and been through and yet we still haven't worked out how to get along with each other...
Without a doubt the greatest gen. for futuristic tech., now just have to get used to it. But believe more will be at our disposal in given time to surprise all. Thanks! Nice write up …
Maybe we're not all meant to get a long with each other because if we were....
what's with the different colours, language culture and so on.

But man has pushed us living together, possibly going against the holy ones creation dunno

In my opinion, we should of stuck with Gods plan conversing

When I was a child, I thought as a child, I did as a child. But, now that I am an adult, I have put away childish things.....I have no interest in looking back..been there...the future is more interesting. Go back to..childhood. Nah, too many fears and rules. Young adult..nope..too stupid and foolish. Middle age..nah..work work work and worry. Old age. It is not great, but has lots of perks. And all that crap of those decades are not my concern anymore. Now I can be as free as I wish.thumbs up
Xennials?I am a baby boomer although wiki says 1946. I was born the week of the atomic bombs, the outcome of returning combatants.
