A Diabolical Trap

No, not clever. Cruel, inhumane or anything else you want to call it, but not clever. You don’t make war against woman, children and old people.

It was the cause of a lot of other things that went wrong in this country. The Afrikaner was scared that it would happen again; he just took it out on the wrong people. The shooting of the striking white miners was the last straw.

A Diabolical Trap

Hi to all you fellas!
conversing
My grandfather told us the most wonderful stories of his exploits during the Boer war. All the English that he captured single-handedly, etc. It was only when he died in 1996 that I realized that he was born in July 1901; just two months after the war ended!rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

RE: Be loved

Ah Christin,

I'm sure you get plenty of guys who are more than prepared to love you, but you don't like them. Right? Right. We all make that mistake in saying (or thinking), I just want to be loved. But that is not true; well ok, just half of it anyway.

What you (and I and everybody else) really want is to be loved by somebody you are in love with too! hug Yes, we are choosy! And rightly so, but the choosier you are, the longer you wait. No problem when young like you; time is on your side.

Don’t get impatient, the right one will come!

A Better Trained Cat

Hmm, I am very afraid!

RE: Finding A younger Male at 79?

Aye MissKitty, did he specify what currency? Maybe he was talking about Zimbabwean Dollars! Quite affordable. Even for you and me. rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

RE: Wow ! and Wow !! again !

Hmm, the receiver of the package would have been in grave trouble if it was detected in transit! I doubt it if FedEx would be so stupid. I think she was earmarked by some drug dealer as a recipient for their goods! Less risk for them.

RE: HEADS OF STATE??

I don't think so. I think the British all agree about Charles abdicating in favour of his son. All because he acted like a typical English king while still a prince. I wonder if he would have beheaded her if he could!

Introducing myself - The first twenty years.

Hi Lukeon,

it is funny, my daughter have been there now for six years, also in NSW, and she describes Oz and the people as almost like in SA. I want to go and visit there next year.

Hi Delatude,

No problem. Glad u liked it. Wonderfull blog u just did. I love stories like that.

The Way We See Ourselves

Hi Parti, great to hear from you. What do you mean by opposite? I'd say that is a fairly accurate description! rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

I googled your hometown the other day and looked at some of the buildings too. Neat! And a population of almost 10,000! Pity I did not have the time to look at all of them as well!

Hi Guzman, Ed! Good having you around too!thumbs up

The Way We See Ourselves

What we write in our profiles create a certain expectation. Hence the first encounter. We expect the person to be as advertised.

Then comes the correspondence, which will determine if there will be a meeting or not. This is when you really build a picture of the other person. If this correspondence is not truthful, then it is where the false expectations are created. Just be yourself. Let there rather be no meeting than a disappointing meeting.

Expectation is the root of all heartache. So if reality cannot meet the expectation then it causes heartache. By the same definition then, if reality meets or exceeds the expectations it causes joy. Thus expectation is also the root of all joy!

RE: Would You ?

Hi Joleen.

No, girl. A diary is a very personal thing. It does not matter whether he is 12 or 21; it is his privacy - respect it. The fact that the diary is where you can get to it easily only confirms that he trusts you; don't break that trust. When he is ready he'll talk to you.

Wisdom Unlimited.

Hmm, thanks Fotinia, I'm fine. You people have been very kind. I appreciate it.

RE: WINE IS HEALTHY!

Hi Crystal, What wine co do you work for? Or are you just a walking encyclopedia? Very informative.

RE: WINE IS HEALTHY!

This is great news. Do you think you can find some motivation and justification for some of my other vices?

RE: Sophie and Hans Scholl

Thanks, you seem very knowledgeable. professor

It is funny though. The Russians were so hard looking for more Germans to prosecute and execute. Was Munich part of West or East Germany?

RE: Sophie and Hans Scholl

I wonder what the janitor got out of it. I can only assume that he was prosecuted after the war.

When A Cat Don't Fear Dogs...

I have to ask the question though. How can you be sure it was a dog?

We have foxes and badgers in the UK that will attack cats on the odd occasion. Have you not got other animals that hunt and kill domestic pets.

Hi Mickeymost,

Strangely, as I live in a country with an abundance of wildlife, no, we have no animals like that around here. This is a highly populated area with no game anywhere. The only wild animals you will find here are mice, rats, bats and moles. You won’t find a fox or anything like that in a 100km radius

There were eye witnesses. The dog had been identified and some of my neighbours are livid, but I cannot blame the dog too much. The cat should have fled. I interfered too much with the natural behaviour of a cat. I have removed his only defence mechanism against dogs.

When A Cat Don't Fear Dogs...

Eish, a long list of acknowledgements. Particolor, Welela, Capricorn, CuddlingSoul, Wafwotam, Simmo. Thank you guys, for the kind words.

You guys from NSW, my daughter told me last night about 11pm (my time) that at 6am (your time) it was already 22°. Hmm, she’s been complaining about the heat since December. How do you manage it?

To Catch A Liar

My problem with lying is that once I catch you lying to me once, I start wondering what else that you told me was a lie. From then onwards I won’t believe a single word you say; even if it is true!scold

To Catch A Liar

I went to Sunday school with Particolor. I still remember what a well-behaved kid he was and how neat his mother always combed his hair. Believe me.rolling on the floor laughing

Why look at me if you have blocked me?

I don't know why, but CS corrupted my header; probably too long!
I should read: "Why look at me if you are not willing to accept messages from me?"

RE: Missing you BIG TIME :'(

Ah, so romantic, my young friend, but wrong. Every little thing has some influence on something else. Nothing happens without a reaction. Einstein's theory is being proved true every day, admittedly not always in the way that he meant it, but true just the same! And love does not cover all. It should, but it does not always. If life was like the movies, we'd never be blue!

Seeking Equality For Women!?

Never again will I claim to know (or understand) people! With the exception of Particolor, I'm very surprised with the response so far. But then he had commented on my blogs before, so we probably have a somewhat similar sense of humour. Hi to Ccindy too, I loved your second response. You deserve a flower. bouquet
