I cannot really find a parallel between the Jihadists and other extremists. Jihadists display a savage and blood-thirsty cruelty that makes other terrorist action look like a Sunday school picnic. And then there is the scale of activity. No other extremist group comes even close to jihad action. Jihadists are all over the world with a common ideology driving them. I suspect that there's a much larger force than just Iran coordinating them; some force using the Jihadists to fight a proxi war on its behalf. This is quite different to other groups - left or right - much smaller and operating independently from each other and without any common goal.
Ah , I see. Just because extremists exist on both sides this can safely be ignored. Then we did not even look at the difference in numbers and the intensity of the two sides. Not even to mention the methods employed by the Jihadists. Now showing off their humanitarian nature by engineering the release of convicted terrorists in exchange for hostages who should not have been taken in the first place.
If you want to defend terrorism, it tells me a lot about you, be that researchable and provable or not. But then I suppose you are entitled to an opinion.
Not quite, I live close to the warm Indian Ocean. We're going to fish in the cold Atlantic. Though I'm only about 25 kilometres from the Atlantic, our favourite spot is far away. Great fun. An army tent, a case of brandy and just enough food for two days. The rest of the week we'll eat fish and crayfish.
PS There is a town not too far away in case we go hungry.
Oh, I am, I'm just waiting for my one friend to finish his contract. We'll probably be leaving by the weekend. Can you imagine, I live about 4 kilometres from the sea but we're going to drive 600 kilometres to go fishing.
Nothing unusual about this. The Vietnam war was not popular with the people of the USA. It was long ago and my memory is not so good anymore but I'm sure there must have been some protests.

And this was on its way out. It was only after the recent Hamas invasion that Benjamin Netanyahu stopped (postponed??) his attempted reform. He ignored the protests and if not for the invasion it might have been in place already. So, in my view, Israel's democracy is hanging on a thread. If they don't get rid of him soon he will steamroller his legislation through which will move them just closer to the Arabs.

Countless innocent civilians died just because they happened to be in a wrong pub, church, station, shopping centre or some other public place. Killed by Russian bombs placed by Russian trained terrorist.

Hi Sala, There seemed to be a misunderstanding here. I was talking about the difference between Jews and Arabs. You compared Israelis with Hamas. To my knowledge Jews and Israelis are not mutually inclusive. Ditto to Hamas and Arabs.
And then, just for the sake of interest, does a form of goverment define the people? To me it rather defines the rulers.
