A Total Onslaught

I have nothing against Islam. It is the Jihadists that worry me. And those who think what is happening in Israel is something local and isolated, better have another think. It is part of something much bigger. professor

Israel only appears to be a hotbed because they are more successful against the Jihadists. But open your eyes and look around. You'll find them all over. To name just a few locations, I can start with countries like Syria, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Congo, Kenya, Somalia and, not long ago, as far south as Mozambique. This list is not nearly complete. wow

Europe and the Americas only think they're safe. It's already sticking its head out in France. Belgium, Denmark and Sweden also had problems with these Jihadists while the USA had their hands full with Al Qaeda. We remember 911 all too well. very mad

On their own they appear as local and unrelated insurgencies but collectively they become a global catastrophe and I think those who don't see what's going on, don't want to see it. doh

Of course, I may be paranoid. I grew up in a country where we were spooked with all kinds of dangers. There were the black danger, the red danger, the yellow danger and any other conceivable danger but that does not mean that I'm wrong. As Adrian Monk said: "I may be wrong but I don't think so." dunno

No , you are not a paranoid at all... all is going to be bad very soon. for examples almost all schools in Belgium and here in Nl are closed today because of a danger of terrorist attacks.
I ve talked with a good friend of my from London.. he was always a utopian idealist. Tried to create a boxing association where Jewish and Muslim boxers could box in the same team.. He worked on this for many years, flying between London and Tel Aviv.. but yesterday he said with bitterness in his voice that he was leaving this utopian idea. that "London had become a f*cking Islamabad". a strong bad wind is blowing from London.. and it s quiet understandable ..unfortunately ...
Well! Thanks for the heads up. so lm neither crazy nor paranoid. It took me very long to post this. I thought everybody would be laughing at me. doh

As if that has ever bothered me. rolling on the floor laughing

I thonk, it should be clearly pointed out, that extremists exist on any side and in the most cultures. In particular, also in Western civilization.

Moreover, please also take into account who created some of the most notorious extremist groups and why they were created?

Keep in mind, also the concept of divide and conquer is not just an old saying but bloody practice of politics.

Its all researchale and proovable by evidence and not only since yesterday.
Ah , I see. Just because extremists exist on both sides this can safely be ignored. Then we did not even look at the difference in numbers and the intensity of the two sides. Not even to mention the methods employed by the Jihadists. Now showing off their humanitarian nature by engineering the release of convicted terrorists in exchange for hostages who should not have been taken in the first place. frustrated

If you want to defend terrorism, it tells me a lot about you, be that researchable and provable or not. But then I suppose you are entitled to an opinion. doh
I wanted to say what extremism is about in general regardless of when and why their atrocities appear.

In general it can be said, leftist extremism tend to focus on single targets, right wing extremism tend to generalize.

There is also a lot of evidence when in particular ultra right wing have utilized reactionary forces regardless what it their background and including a so called `religious´ context.

The applied techniques and methods are known and you can find many example in modern history.

Example(s): just research for example on Baghdadi and his links to specific groups in the West including intelligence sevices. Or in another example, it is fact who supported and help to found one of the most notorious extremist/terror groups in the early 80s in order to fight the Soviet Union in Afghanistan .. and so forth ...

And please dont use these framing techniques on individuals. I have also not tried to put you in a specifc corner. I have only underlined that extremism is used by any powers and by any sides, inluding in the so called West in recent history.

Yes, Conrad.. these are people from another civilization. they still have to travel a distance of 1000 years. therefore, our civilization has no right to
lose this war, no matter what sacrifices it costs
Hello Catfoot.
I'm not for or against anything here. Just posting some information which I think explains the background to some of this. If I'm wrong, fine.

Secularism, Sectarianism and suppression of religon by invading forces have led to Islam extremism. The most recent example in the Middle East was in 1967 by Israel.

Islam is not Secularist. However many Muslim countries operate a secular system as do most Christian countries including Russia.

The following extract from Wikipedia gives an overview.

"Secularism—that is, the separation of religion from civic affairs and the state—has been a controversial concept in Islamic political thought, owing in part to historical factors and in part to the ambiguity of the concept itself. In the Muslim world, the notion has acquired strong negative connotations due to its association with removal of Islamic influences from the legal and political spheres under foreign colonial domination, as well as attempts to restrict public religious expression by some secularist nation states. Thus, secularism has often been perceived as a foreign ideology imposed by invaders and perpetuated by post-colonial ruling elites, and is frequently understood to be equivalent to irreligion or anti-religion."

I have no idea why it's spreading and getting worse.
I cannot really find a parallel between the Jihadists and other extremists. Jihadists display a savage and blood-thirsty cruelty that makes other terrorist action look like a Sunday school picnic. And then there is the scale of activity. No other extremist group comes even close to jihad action. Jihadists are all over the world with a common ideology driving them. I suspect that there's a much larger force than just Iran coordinating them; some force using the Jihadists to fight a proxi war on its behalf. This is quite different to other groups - left or right - much smaller and operating independently from each other and without any common goal.
Book: Profits of War: Inside the Secret U.S.-Israeli Arms Network (Ari Ben-Menashe, 1992)

Quote: “The slush fund helped finance the intelligence community’s “black” operations around the world. These included funding Israeli-controlled “Palestinian terrorists” who would commit crimes in the name of the Palestinian revolution, but were actually pulling them off, usually unwittingly, as part of the Israeli propaganda machine.” (Ari Ben-Menashe, Profits of War, 1992, chapter 8)

only as an example how extremism is used by Western powers.

another example: search for GLADIO when reactionary forces where used to stop the spread of socialism/communism in Western Europe
BBC2 in 1992, 'Operation Gladio' reveals 'Gladio', the secret state-sponsored terror network operating in Europe.

Swiss Policy Research,hmm?
