Equality For Women

Really?

I often wonder if our fair ladies realise what they stand to lose in attaining equality. Think about it. Nobody to offer his seat on a bus or a train anymore, nobody to open doors, and nobody offering to carry parcels. These are just a few of the perks they stand to lose. professor

I can still understand why men would want equality for women. We're just want to be done with those silly gestures like giving up seats, opening doors and carrying parcels but I cannot for the life of me understand why any woman - unless totally insane - would strive for equality. confused dunno

It does not make any sense. Hell, I would never relinquish the upper hand if I had it. doh grin

I guess it all depends on your definition of equality, I open doors, give up my seat etc. regardless of gender.

Equality is not just about politeness, it is about s*xual abuse, wages/promotion in the workplace and much more. To narrow it down to opening doors is exactly why women need equality.
Wowwow I did not know that. I thought woman abuse goes with the territory. Thanx for the enlightenment. doh

It must be terrible to go through life with a long face .comfort
going through life with a long face? It could be far worse. One could be doomed to traversing life attempting feeble jokes about serious issues.
Reading blogs are entirely optional. If you don't like my blogs get off it.tongue doh

I say that if women want to be valid, whole human beings in society – equality has got to move beyond this notion that women are striving for what men already have. If they only really knew what men have and go through, they would reconsider equality.
If strives for equality is reached, it means that talking about their feelings and seeking help would be eradicated, and they would have to increase their murders of their partners and ex partners by at least 200% to match the rates of women killed by male partners and ex partners each year?
If I were a woman I'd say no thanks and just pass.

Hi Luke,
My grandmother used to say that one should be careful of what you wish for because you may just get something too big to handle.

I wonder how women would fare in a divorce court when treated the way men are treated at the present time.

As I said in the blog, if I had the upper hand I would never relinquish voluntary; nevermind campaigning for it. grin
Feminism is the movement for equal rights for women.

You can't have equal rights for women without having equal rights for everyone else, by default.

Why do you think that equal rights is too big for women, people of colour, differently abled, LGBTQ+, etc. people to handle? Like we're not real people, nor equal to the task?

Why is it inconceivable that women might see how everyone has much to gain from equality?

Any of us in an advantagious position where others are subjugated has a price to pay. It's not healthy for anyone.
Hi Jac,
I scanned my blog and I cannot find any reference to people of colour, disabled people or LGBTQ+ so I must assume that you are on the wrong blog. Failing that, you must be trying to hijack or derail my blog. Please don't for I don't do it to you.

What's more, you should read this blog tongue in the cheek as I intended it. It was specific for people with long faces that I provided the rosy specs.wink
I don't think you're too intelectually challenged to understand my comment, but I appreciate it might be emotionally challenging.

I'm sorry about that, but think we're all up to the task of living a fair and equal life whatever we have to give and take. To think otherwise is unfair, unequal and discriminatory by default.
What an azzlike comment. Looking for a fight again, saving soem whales.
Does the sjw in you have to be surgically removed? Asking for a friend of mine.
Glad it's this dude cos he will laugh it off.

Of course byassing that it's 'azzlike' to imply that women aren't, or anyone else isn't equal to the task of equality.

At least I have faith that men are.
Hey Catfoot, Recently I held a door open for a woman who I was aware was following me. I stood back while holding the door to let her pass. On her way passed she gave me a contemptuous look and muttered something. I can't lip read but it seemed like "Are you the feckin hotel porter", something like that.

A week or so later I was following a woman into a shop. When she reached the door she stopped and waited. Apparently that was my que to rush forward and open the door for her.

It seems we're all having difficulty transitioning to equality or wokeness or feminism or whatever it's called.
I bet that on balance society will not be better because of this.

Bring back the days when men could be gentlemen and women could be ladies.laugh
How To Open A Door

Push the door open with your hand and partially pass through the doorway.

Look over your shoulder on the door side and wait for the person behind you to put their hand on the door, ensuring it doesn't swing shut in their face.

It's only necessary to open the door like a hotel porter if the person behind you is pushing a baby buggy, is in a wheelchair, is carrying too much to hold the door themselves, is too infirm to hold the door open themselves, etc.

Whilst holding the door open like a porter, don't stare at the person you are holding the door for. Allow them to initiate small talk if they feel comfortable, otherwise politely reply 'you're welcome' to their polite 'thank you' and be on your way.

This etiquette is appropriate for anyone regardless of gender, or any other group belonging.

It may not always be obvious that someone can't open the door themselves due to a physical condition, especially if the doors are large, heavy and/or self-closing like a fire door. If you offer help, a brisk and slightly destracted demeanor is a useful tool to avoid the impression of an ulterior motive, like theft, or s*xual harassment.

Your Sunday must be as boring as you.laugh

Give me a minute and I'll try and juice it up for you.thumbs up
Thanks for the blog Cat, I'm enjoying it.

Unfortunately ... I must say this.

@ Jack,
My question to you is why on this earth do you feel so threatened by Cat and others, is it that his blogs are beyond your dull comprehension or maybe its that you are much too dumb to see that your pathetic comments are not wanted on his blogs?
I'm surmising that bloggers like Cat don't blog to purely to suck in your absolute brilliance and supreme knowledge on every subject under the sun, they do it for self satisfaction and also for the not so intelligent ones like me, surely you of all people can see this? If you have such strong opinions abbout colour, feminism and other crap you want to get off your chest please write a blog about it and defend your stance, whatever it is.
Stop trying to derail blogs with your passive aggressive know it all comments which only show your ignorance and stupidity. Do your blog/s and lets see how interesting they turn out to be. I'll even support you on thatcomfort
Haha, thanks for the instruction however you have presumed too much. Let me enlighten you.

I actually did as you said but when I looked behind me I noticed three young children had joined her so I stood back against the wall as she hooshed the children through.

Hope this helps.
@OP and @Triumvirate=OP/Luke/Grand reducing the issue of gender equality to opening doors and other () of polite behaviour is so male prepubescent. Opening doors in another sense is in part however what it is about - opportunity and power and status. Anyone who equates gender equality with doors has a serious lack of understanding.

@OP and as to homosexual, racial, immigrant, minority rights and equality, whether you like it or not, if you raise equality you will almost certainly find that coloured women, immigrant women are at the very bottom of the prejudice heap. Poor you, stealing your thread you think?
I didn't presume anything.

My comment wasn't directed at anyone in particular, but inspired by the discussion.

The topic of opening doors has come up so many times over the years and so many men seem to struggle with it, that I wrote an outline of current etiquettes that we can all partake in regardless of gender, or any other difference.
I can not think of any right that men have but women don't.
The biggest lie women went like crazy for is that they should behave like men.
It has nothing to do with equality.
As for payment, well, you get what you've earned.
I also disagree with equal payment, especially in sports, it's down to how much money you generate and not how much you deserve, even though women get a bigger percentage of the revenue than men.
The more masculine image of the modern woman don't attract the desire of men to remember what chivalry is.
The sick believe that is wildly promoted is that women can do anything without men.
No, they can't and they don't want. It is too much.
But if a woman's attitude towards men is "I don't need you!" .
Well the man will go for the woman who does.
A woman who does leave him be... a man.
What goes around comes around.
Absolutely agree with you...
Don't you have something better to do? doh

I spent a great day with some friends only to find that you and your accomplice had littered my blog with your garbage. You should make some friends so you'd have something to do on Sundays. Or get a boyfriend. At least then you won't have to stalk people on the web.tongue
Hi Luke, thanks. Good to see some people have a sonse of humour.handshake dancing

He'll, I did not know that opening a door is such a complicated business. I wonder... Perhaps if she is not too busy she can instruct us on how to close a door in proper fashion.grin
It seems like we have another stalker here. Don't you have something better to do than to be a troll. You know, your behaviour is very much consistent with somebody who had been abused as a child. Get a life, man!
Hi Ten
Thanks for a very constructive comment and I agree with everything you said, however it not quite the response I expected. I wrote this blog very tongue in the cheek and expected it to be read like that. It appears that people find it hard to laugh at themselves. No offence meant. Just heckling a bit. hug wine
And now I hope to get a few other thing done. Wishing my dishes and taking the garbage it comes to mind.uh oh
*washing my dishes*doh
@OP you took the time to put this shallow thoughtless 'garbage' blog about 'equality' here. Surprised about the response? Well not a deep thinker, perhaps. I am surprised you have not had other females blasting you for your facile jest...
Now you too try the paternal condescension on someone clearly more literate and intelligent.
Get a boyfriend? What, someone like you? Accomplice? Jeez chum - how do you say paranoia in Afrikaans? aaah dieselfde woord dasselbe Wort.
Aww, sorry about that, Cat mumbling
I guess I have become a bit humourless when it comes to men-women topics.
I have a son, I am on my toes about what he may drag through the door one day laugh
Oh for sucks fake!! What else must I do to get rid of you. And try to use another word than 'shallow'. Repeated use of the same word gets boring.

You must not dabble with Afrikaans. Our words are easily misinterpreted. Just recently 'wit kant' meaning 'white side' was mistaken for 'white c**t' but I guess you know all about itdoh
No problem. Btw, are you in tarot readings?sad flower
Cat, unfortunately this c0ck sucker has become bored with insulting religions, in particular he has a profound hatred toward the Islam and Christian religions. You will see how true this is when he tries and denies this after reading my comment. He likes to fling insults then delete and deny that it came from him. A real two faced fecker that finds it enjoyable to derail blogs of interest. The mere fact that he will deny that what I stated here is 100% true. FaggotFan here's your chance to report me again, go for it pal before the path gets littered with thorns. rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing
Hi Luke. He is the proverbial pain in the donkey. In the beginning I thought it was personal but I soon got to realise it's his style. I should really just ignore him . CS should build in the ability to block unwanted people from our blogs.
doh
Invitation accepted.
Then why didn't you place the blog in COMEDY?

You're just making an excuse because you never thought through the topic.
Eish!!! You again. You're the last thing I want to see on an empty stomach. You are still going to drive me to cheap drinks and bad women. frustrated
Now who pulled your chain? This is what I love about CS. One make so many new friends.cool
