Yes, one should always have your eyes open first before you enter a relationship. When my relationship with the love of my life started, my eyes were wide open especially at the start and I am learning slowly to close one eye.

I once read an email with the following quote: African proverb states, "Before you get married, keep both eyes open, and after you marry, close one eye."

I agree with you that the main question is can you live with it? Accepting someone wholeheartedly...flaws and all is a big decision as no one is perfect. We all have baggage, fears, and flaws. If one can't live with it, better to be alone.
