Ian,if you don't believe God is real it would be hard to make you understand that he is real. Read thestories of the other commentators and an answer may be there. @ekself,God is for everyone. Sometimes I feel the same way but i canot give up with my house full of Christians. Gee I wanted to turn a Hellenist.
Good one wht.Now if God is real which he is,we need to look at the other side of the coin...the devil is real and so is hell.Now that is something scary to think about. Heaven is real and so is hell...although I tend to think some patches of life is like hell itself.
Girl,butterflies it is hard to believe right now. I have had disappointments,failures,illnesses to deal with and I am still going thru a ruff patch right now that seems never to end just like my chronic illness...sights. But I live in aka house full of 100% Christians and I have to pray and attend church with them...so there is nothing much I can do but read the bible...singing that is the book for me.
BTW gentle Jim,I saw Shane a long time ago when I was writing a Caribbean exam. It was used as a literature text for me. I got a grade two in the subject.
Hi gentlejim,I like old movies concerning the myths and legends of old especially of the Greek gods. I wanted to become a Hellenist but there is no scope here on the island for such. Come to think of it the island is really backward instead of forward...anyway I like all the clash of the titans,immortals,Hercules,all the Conan movies. I also like movies like xmen and the avengers,ironman and Thor. I loved watching the pirates of the Caribbean.I also love all the Lara croft tomb raiders.I think I have painted a pretty good picture of the movies l like.
Hi wht,thanks so much for the ideas. I am thinking to work for a bit even if it is teaching and raise some money and then see if I can branch off into something else...let us see what happens. I know things ruff with you as well. It is the sabotage don't you think?
Atleast you get unemployment grant. In these small Caribbean islands you get nothing. Life can be so hard wht,but we still need to keep the positive vibe and keep smiling.
@ knen,I would love to go back to school and do something different but the money is just not there for me to make a move to do anything. @wht,I did karate when I was young. To teach hand to hand combat here would not work. People would just not be interested. @cat,I taught secondary close to five years and it was so hard. Now I am applying for the primary level and hope I can handle it....I can't teach Tertiary because I don't have a masters in the subject I want to teach in.I am training my mind to like teaching.
Hi prenge,good you spend you time writing. Boy I would love not to go back into teach but jobs are hard to find especially for my qualifications. I have a degree in geography and biology. Most people are looking for business subjects.
Ian,I think it is a cultural thing. I know in Guyana where I am from originally the Indians are the oneswho commit such acts the most. So i think it is cultural.
