If you are not an employer of this place and write here every day all day long entertaining others for money - you should really get worried and seek some professional help.
Anyone can open a blog on Blogspot or WordPress and write 15 blogs a day if they want. You can do it, too, then advertise your blog, even here. Maybe people will come and read. Maybe not.
Why is it important to be here? Does posting a blog in a community like this one creates an illusion that someone's words reach other people, that people are read and acknowledged by others? The truth is that most blogs go unnoticed, most are read only by "friends" and even if they have hundreds of comments - they get forgotten in a few days.
Do what you like and the way you like - it doesn't make a difference anyway.
I think that people rarely write long e-mails any more.
It's very time-consuming and you can easily spend a lot of hours writing back and forth just to realize that the other person actually wants a pen-pal, not a relationship. It happened to me on other dating sites, especially with men from other countries.
It's much easier to chat or have a phone call as soon as possible on WhatsApp, Messenger, etc. It's more reliable and you can get to know a person better faster.
Forums are for discussions about different topics and interaction with other members.
But - what are blogs actually for? What kind of blogs "make sense"?
If they are a "personal diary" - then anyone can write or post whatever they want, including photos and videos - with or without comments.
Even in an ordinary diary - sometimes you write, sometimes you draw, sometimes you copy other people's words, poems or lyrics you like, sometimes you only post a sticker or a photo...
However, you are right about one thing - on all social media - people started to communicate through photos, memes, videos... They hardly ever write anything themselves any more and even if they do - they write only short and simple sentences. That's why Twitter or Instagram are so popular. Not many words or words at all...
Sometimes I wonder who we are any more with all this social media, with so many accounts - Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, various blogs and forums... Do we know all those "friends" and "relatives" any more? Do we know ourselves?
