There are some blogs that are just videos in comment after comment
I use youtube to highlight topics of interest not amateur reporting...W5 is a Canadian news program as well as The National...their opinion pieces or investigative reporting helps give the audience a better picture of what I write...perhaps a bit lazy but attention spans are also taken into consideration...lol...

If i wanted to watch YouTube then I would do just that, not log into a blog.

String, if you understand the meaning and context of the video, you should be able to give your opinion about it in your own words

Most of the time I log on from my phone and I'm not going to waste all my data nor my time on YouTube.
With a link it's different as it gives people the option to watch when and where.
As Imp says I don't go on CS to watch videos.

Forums are for discussions about different topics and interaction with other members.
But - what are blogs actually for? What kind of blogs "make sense"?
If they are a "personal diary" - then anyone can write or post whatever they want, including photos and videos - with or without comments.
Even in an ordinary diary - sometimes you write, sometimes you draw, sometimes you copy other people's words, poems or lyrics you like, sometimes you only post a sticker or a photo...
However, you are right about one thing - on all social media - people started to communicate through photos, memes, videos... They hardly ever write anything themselves any more and even if they do - they write only short and simple sentences. That's why Twitter or Instagram are so popular. Not many words or words at all...
To be fair getting off pretty lightly compared to those battling with Florence.
Kinda like a cell phone, no one talks just text.

More often than not, blogs turn into open discussions... the very same thing forums were designed for.

Some streets have been flooded here because the drainage is practically non existent in Spain.
Also...when it rains all night I get water running down the walls and the floors....no waterproof houses here!
