I was thinking about opening a blog about something that bothered me the other day and then I remembered reading here that you should reply to everyone who responds or that you should not keep your blog closed (not allowing comments) so I gave up and decided to stick to forums for the time being. There's no such pressure there. You can reply if you feel like it and don't have to if you lose interest in the thread.
I personally doubt it will ever happen, especially since there are more and more laws made in order to protect one's privacy. There's this new law called "the right to be forgotten". Sites like Connecting Singles should also implement that law and give the option to their members to choose not only to delete their profile, but also all online posts ever made. Facebook also has a new option - to completely delete your profile forever (not just deactivate it). People tend to protect their privacy more and more, so I suppose actually the opposite will happen. Old sites like forums will either have to allow their members more privacy and control over their accounts and comments or will have to get shut down. Things are still not that strict and most old sites haven't implemented these new rules yet, but I suppose they will have to - in time.
I like to sleep listening to the sound of rain. There are several Youtube videos I listen to when I have problems falling asleep - they all include not only the sound of rain, but also some distant thunders and wind.
RE: What would you say?
It's just a phase... It will pass.
