lived in the city my whole life and hate every min of it. i enjoy going up into the mts when i go camping. i'd take the country over the city any day of the week
virginia beach in general is a very nice place to live... if you dont mind tourists and traffic but every place has its bad side and thats where i happen to be the bad side.... there are very few here and i happened to find one
3 years ago there was a shooting a few houses down from me and someone was shot
2 years ago there was another shooting near the same spot a year ago but this time no one was hurt
later that summer there was another shooting were someone was killed this time near the mail boxes (..i have to walk to the mail box ya know the ones you need a key for)
that fall some kids of a gang that has ties with one in new york were arrested for killing an old lady ...that was at the end of my street
there was another raid this spring on a house near the end of my street and they found illegal alcohol and cocain
the house across the street from me the people there had an arguement with some people outside and guns were shown but not fired
well two nights ago there was a drive by on my street no one was hurt thank the goddess.
tonight there was a raid on a house across the street and down a little ways from me.
the houses near me get raided about every 6-8 months
i hear gun shots almost every night
and i believe there may be dog fights going on as well ... a few weeks ago i was almost attacked by two dogs running free but they got sidetraked and attacked a girls puppy that she was walking at the time ..the puppy was saved and only had a few stratches on him. i was walking my farrets at the time and thought they may come after me . i got outta there as fast as i could. the dogs around here are pit bulls and they are mean.

I am well. Hope you are too. Tell Brother Walt and Brother Elmer that the Marine Corps beats working for old man Minch by a mile. Tell them to join up quick before all of the places are filled.
I was restless at first because you got to stay in bed till nearly 6 a.m., but I am getting so I like to sleep late. Tell Walt and Elmer all you do before breakfast is smooth your cot and shine some things. No hogs to slop, feed to pitch, mash to mix, wood to split, fire to lay… practically nothing. Men got to shave but it’s not so bad… there’s warm water. Breakfast is strong on trimmings like fruit juice, cereal, eggs, bacon, etc., but kind of weak on chops, potatoes, ham, steak, fried eggplant, pie, and other regular food, but tell Walt and Elmer you can always sit by the two city boys that live on coffee. Their food plus yours holds you ’til noon when you get fed again. It’s no wonder these city boys can’t walk much.
We go on “route marches,” which the platoon sergeant says are long walks to harden us. If he thinks so, it’s not my place to tell him different. A “route march” is about as far as to our mailbox at home. Then the city guys get sore feet and we all ride back in trucks.
The country is nice but awful flat. The sergeant is like a school teacher. He nags a lot. The captain is like the school board. Majors and colonels just ride around and frown. They don’t bother you none.
This next will kill Walt and Elmer with laughing. I keep getting medals for shooting. I don’t know why. The bulls-eye is near as big as a chipmunk head and don’t move, and it ain’t shooting at you like the Higgett boys at home. All you got to do is lie there all comfortable and hit it. You don’t even load your own cartridges. They come in boxes.
Then we have what they call hand-to-hand combat training. You get to wrestle with them city boys. I have to be real careful though, they break real easy. It ain’t like fighting with that ole bull at home. I’m about the best they got in this except for that Tug Jordan from over in Silver Lake. I only beat him once. He joined up the same time as me, but I’m only 5'6? and 130 pounds and he’s 6'8? and near 300 pounds dry.
Be sure to tell Walt and Elmer to hurry and join up before other fellers get onto this setup and come stampeding on in.
im always careful thats why i havent been shot yet ..that and everybody around here knows of the crazy people i hang out with and would definitly think twice before even considering hurting me. .. but the violence here is one reason im saving up to get outta here
in most part yes it is not that common but were i live its wanna be thugs with guns. no one will dilever pizza and the like on my street for safty reasons
yea i know. if any place in va beach could ever be considered a hood its my neighborhood.....you can walk down my street and get high ..and i mean that literally
yea but it happes so often here . i dont think anyone was hurt though cause there was only one cop car and they left already. i'll know more about it in the morning.
im all for freedom of speach and all that but saying untruths im not ok with. when confronted and proven wrong admit it and move on dont go preaching the same old lies and misunderstandings. some people will never learn techonology may have advanced over the years but most people i believe have not.
your not the only one. and some people will go on and on about something and not know what they are talking about . and what they are saying usually has a negative vibe in it. it makes it hard when others are trying to correct a negative image about something with other people preaching the same lies and misunderstandings about it. I am Wiccan I am a Witch and if you cant accept that I dont care.... maybe i should have said that to hillbilly the other night when we were going back and forth about it. she really needs to get her facts straight before she opens her mouth about it.
some people just refuse to except things outside of their belief systems. if it doesnt fit then they pass it off as some kind of joke or insult. they can be soo blinded by pride and belief that they refuse the truths right in front of them
i dont see the point in that ..maybe because i agreed with mylife ...you know there were things that hillbilly said in the witches thread that offended me and what no but i never reported her and i think i was being very nice considering how rude i thought she was being...some people are just soo childish
