Iraqi Christian are stopping their holiday season Church services and even lighting their homes and setting up decorations. Mainly because of the grow threat that alQeada of Iraq is to the Christian community there.
It was only a few weeks ago that major Christian Church was take hoestage with large number of deaths. But with only security now is being provided by the Iraqi IDf...the Christian leaders don't feel safe enough to to hold services.
bin Laden saw a hole in the Iraq security as American forces withdrew and move to base operations. He has exploited it by the earlier Church attack. And now even by making calls for attacks on Iraqi Christians.
All the time in Washington....they either wring their hands or play innocent to the growing threat to Iraqi Christians. This blogger papered for a US security operations to be extended to the Iraqi Christian communities. But the message was unheaded.
So it seem there will be a price for the American withdrawal from Iraq.
PS I only condescend when the other offers little of a solution to the principle issues. Then I consider it information materials, I share with him or her.

Ireland is a island nation. Your closest border neigbboor is across the English channel....60 miles away. These three (Isreal and Hezbollosh/Syria) are nose to nose to nose across lines in the sand.
They all sense military build ups of the other much faster because of the proximity. Israel went into southern Lebanon for 10 years and then left. Was in GAZA and left. The reality is today....Isreal has left much of the land taken earlier.
The Golden Heigths is a real problem to Isreal. Only 25 miles to the Med coast after they come off the Heights. Syrian tanks can make the trip in about 1 hour time cutting the country in half.
So I can understand why Isreal wants a wide security DMZ up there. To successfully prevent a Syrian severing attack...Israel has to engage them on the Heigths. But it needs time to get there. A wide DMZ zone gives it to them.
Then we get into the East Jerasulem issues. I looked on Google Earth....the border lines only show a 5.5 square miles of Isreali controlled area here. It is high density urban. If the Isreali move out...you have maybe 4-500,000 Muslims moving in. I think that is the real problem here.
Such a big relocation of West Bank Palestine into near Jerasulem would make the security for the city by the Isreali, that much harder to do. The Isreali are trying to juggle the security for three faiths in the city. All wanting access to the city's Holy places. Add 400,000+ Muslims to the mix.....you have added some real security problems.
Really if they solve this Jerasulem issue.....then they can have peace. But Iran keep sending rockets to both Hamas and Hezbolloh....now..they say Hezbolloh has 40,000 rockets. Technology might some day give Isreal a defense to that. But you cannot ask the Isreali military to stand down when rocket attacks are coming in to the country.

DEM lead Congress....could not come up with a budget for President Obama for next year. How hard is it get a budget when you are the majority in both houses and have the executive office?

DEMs have been dodging so many self drawn legislative arrows this last two years......they meekly finish out this lame duck term....like plucked geese. It is their own fault. Reid and Pelosi wanting to consolidate DEM power after Obama won in 2008, convinced the young President they could run a single party government. Boy were they wrong.
They barely delivered on any of the major DEM legislation and his campaign promises of 2008. Had Reid lost his, in a close TEA Party race.....the DEM mid term defeat goes from 'Shellacking' to 'Drubbing'. They should have START done well before the lame Duck. They say it was because REP asked for the delay. Yea right...Reid schedules the legislative floor session as majority leader.
They were barely able to get this important piece of disarment treaty passed and it took REP to do it. Had REP stayed solid on...this is being hashed out next year.
What I hope happens in the DEM party is this. That the young DEMs start to replace the old Clintonites and Carterites....do what the TEA party did to the REP. Even to the point of forming another party. We can live with four parties. But boot the Clintonites and Carterites out. They have been there too long....they got into the inner structure of Government and dug themselves a burrow.

If it is a fair, just and honorable peace that the immediate regional countries can work between the two parties. I have not problem with that. I say let them return Isreal to its original state in the old testament. When all of Jersaslem, West Bank and the Golden Height were in Isreal.
Seems North Korea is going to let the South do its military exercises and live firing drills along border without any massive retialation. Also Gov. Richardson.....got word from the North Koreans...that they might be interested in returning to the 6 party talks and allowing inspector into is nuclear facilities. Which ones am not sure of.
But now that we know of the hidden facilities, we can request inspections of them as well.
All in all if it stays this on the Korean Penns.....thru the Holidays and into next year.....then it has been a very good X-mas for millions.
