The Duma ...the Russian version of our Congress....tentatively pass by a wide margin the START agreement. While not a formal ratification that will happen next month....after some legislation being drafted now.
START is expected to ratify easily in the Duma and the higher branch.

My spider instincts is saying the there is a connection. Assange biggest supporters are students. Students that feel total transperency of gov't document is a right. The Informal Anarchist Federation hit first in Greece. A month ago, when the Assange case was breaking.

and their way around key board. It is obvious by the student riots in London....they are very close to the anarchist ideology. That is too many

It is not a resource issue. Security is not made by resources or manpower.....but by intelligence.

On 911, the US was the most powerful and advanced country in the world.
Had all the best military resources money could buy. But had a very damaging attack executed on it......because of a intelligence failure.

Isreali have such high success rate with couterterrorsm...because they use their intelligence better.

Iraqi can have high level of security as well....but they have to improve their intelligence gathering and anaylist. The small terrorist cell can always be overpowered by the local forces. But it is the intelligence to identify it...that makes the difference.

As for Iraq and Israel security....if you were taking a Christian youth group of 25 on a 30 day tour. You take them to Iraq or Isreal? We both know the answer to that one...and the groups security would be a major reason.

You just had a American woman stabbed to death in Isreal as she vacationed there, SB. How many times has that happened? Not very often. In the first half of 2010....1.6m visitor came to Isreal. In a years time....that is 3.2m visitor that Isreal hosts. Or 3/5 the entire population of Isreal.

So yes, I think that not only the US and American Christian owe Israel and the IDF thanks for the security provided. But the entire world that come to this small country....to see its Holy sites and 200 museums of ancient artifacts.

Sb, as a American Christian...I feel the country and American Christians owe the Israeli Government and IDF a big "THANK YOU" for keeping the Holy Sites safe and secure during the year and during the Holiday season.

Look what is happening Iraq. The Christians there are having to close Holiday Church services, afraid to hang lights and decorated trees on or in thier homes.

Israel has done remarkably well at keeping the security for Christian and other faiths so well. Personally, I think our Government should give tham a big THANK YOU and Standing applause for doing so.

The lame duck session is over with. The Senate killed a whistleblower bill...that the House had passed. REP were concerned it wold lead to more
wikileaks.

So?

I hope President Obama got his Christmas wish list done in these first two years. Because now the real haggling begins. I will agree with Juan that it is really possibility for a grid locked WaShington. REP had to show that they could work in the Countries interest.

They did that. They were just as much a part of tax cuts, of START, of
unemployment benefits, of 911 first responder bill as the DEM were.

So the party of no, just became the party of can do.

President Obama is riding a high right now from these legislative wins.
And well he should. This took some real insightful politicing hands across the aisleway to accomplish.

The future legislative argument is going to focus on Obamacare from what I can see. Likely the REP will chip away at it. Repealing a piece here and piece there with clause changed in the needed bill that President Obama has to have.

Or they can go for the big splash...a total repeal of the bill. that the President has promised to veto. So I see chip away coming.
