Thank you so much Shirley. Please keep them there!
The first thread I put up about them, Em showed to Adam and Adam showed his mom. She cried to know that so many strangers cared and were thinking of them and praying for them.
Thank you, Ken. I must agree, even if I'm her mom, I do believe she's a good friend.
Today his memory is really bad. He couldn't remember why they broke up. When she told him, he couldn't understand why she's still friends with him. Poor thing. He really is a sweetie.
It's about the same as getting back on that bicycle. You're a little wobbly at first, but eventually you remember how to keep it up! (Sorry, couldn't help it.)
Many of you will remember the thread I posted a few weeks ago about my daughters friend Adam.
For those of you who don't, he is a 14 year old boy, that found out about a month ago that he has a very large brain tumor. It's in the front of his brain and spreading the the back.
He was having horrible headaches at the time. Since then he has medication that helps better with the headaches, but is blacking out and forgetting a lot, I mean a LOT.
Adam has been going through chemo for the past few weeks, even though the doctors first recommendation was surgery. He wasn't ready for the surgery, so opted for chemo instead.
The good news is that Adam has decided to go forward with surgery. They will probably not be able to remove all of the tumor, but will remove as much as they can, and we're hoping shrink what remains through chemo.
This was a very hard decision for Adam. I think he's very brave to have decided on this move. He's worried about the consequences, but I reminded him that his surgeons are very skilled and that they have to go through many years of training to be a neurosurgeon.
Adam will be going through some tests the next couple of weeks to determine when the surgery should be done. They want to do it before Christmas.
I also found out today that he's already been saving his money for him and his mom and sisters (3 and 5 years old) to come here and visit as soon as they can. (We haven't met in person, they met on the internet. He also said that his mom is looking forward to meeting us, as we are her.)
Many will remember that Adam also lost his father in Iraq just a few short months ago, so this family is going through a lot now.
Please remember them all in your thoughts and prayers. This will be a very hard holiday for them.
Well I am impressed! You look so lovely in your pics. You have very pretty skin!!
My sis-in-laws mom had the most beautiful skin! It literally glowed. She was in her 60's when I asked her what she did. First, she never wore makeup, it was against her religion. But all she ever used on her face was Ivory soap and Oil of Olay.
Gotta go for a bit too. Em is about to yank the laptop off my lap! She needs to check on her friend with the brain tumor. btw, and I'll put up a thread later to let everyone know, she's been talking to him about this, and he's decided to have the surgery!
For those that don't know, my daughter is 13 and this is her 14 year old friend.
Morgan, I've been keeping Emily updated on this. I just read your post to her and she wants you to know how sorry she is and she'll be keeping you all in her prayers. From Em.
Update on Adam
Thank you, Len. And as I know you're a praying man, I'll hope that you keep them in your prayers.
