Hate to say it, but this is nothing new, nor is the CIA importing and selling drugs.
The war on drugs isn't one the DEA, ATF, or CIA were ever intended to win, and unfortunately a lot will end up dead because of it, for nothing, and many of them innocent victims.
I started looking into this in 2005 when the DEA did a joint raid (pun intended, lol) with the Vancouver police on a Marc Emery, and demanded he be extradited to the US to be prosecuted for selling pot seeds.
People should look into the powers the DEA has, as well as ATF and what they really get up to.
I just realised this isn't a "say something...anything" thread of the usual variety, rather one of a person above you type.
Well, while I'm here .....why can't people clean up after themselves, especially the kitchen?
My youngest brother made a beautiful meal, used half the pots and pans in the house, plus a casserole dish, numerous utensils, bowls, and whatnot. Then ate it ALL and took off, leaving the mess behind, and me hungry.
Something nice about the poster above me, well, reasonably intelligent, but a little thick at times.
That may be what it's supposed to be for you, and many others, but not everyone. People have the ability, and the right to choose for themselves how they want to live, and not be dictated to by others.
What happens between consenting adults is their own business, as it's supposed to be.
The term "live and let live" should apply equally, not be selective.
The facts are available, if someone wants to know what they are, although few really care. It's apathy and complacency that will be the death knell for the truth, not bad reporting.
It's getting to be the same here too, less people care, so long as there's beer in the fridge and football or Oprah on TV. Voter turn outs aren't particularly stellar, and less people are aware of the issues this country is facing, which is truly sad.
I'm not anti-American in any way, but please keep your news agencies on that side of the border!
Oh, we still get all the US channels, so we see Fox, CNN, etc. as much as we want, but that simply emphasises the difference between news in the US and Canada.
We also get BBC, and everything is available online as well, so really, we get all the choices we want.
Part and parcel to all of it is keeping politicians honest, as if thats even possible.
If you have the media watching you all the time, and digging for dirt, rather than singing your praises and having their lips vapour locked to various anatomical parts, then it does help to create a more balanced political system.
The US media, sadly, isn't doing their "job" anymore, or at least not in the same way they used to.
Sounds like Alberta, except it's not floods, it's tornados that stuck that crap up the tree.
I kinda like the old cars and junk, only problem is we only have a few short months of perusing weather, then it's covered in a blanket of snow. Makes it hard to find that elusive '54 Cadillac tail light or that old cruiser bike frame when everything looks the same, white!
It's not a matter of right or left, it's a matter of not putting a supportive political spin on everything that is reported.
None of our news agencies are politicised like they are in the US. Individual articles in the newspapers are a little different, but on the whole, still very fair.
Fox news is a Republican propaganda machine from what I see, and has been since the start of the second Iraq war, or even earlier. I remember watching in horror at the way things were reported, and feeling lucky to be living and freezing in Canada where the news still wasn't considered entertainment or politically motivated, and still isn't.
Our reporters pick on all politicians equally, if you get a chance look up Rick Mercer.
