I dunno about most, but some are flexible, and some even moreso!
I see all to many looking at marriage as the ultimate goal, or the prize, in their search for "the one", or "forever". To me that sounds more like feeding an insecurity than having a loving realtionship.
This whole concept of the one or a soul mate sounds a bit like fantasy drivel to me as well. The notion that one person can be all things to someone is insane, and puts a lot of pressure on people, as well as the relationship.
I don't see what's wrong with taking things one day at a time, and seeing how it goes. Who knows, it may end up 20 or 50 years down the road, still taking it one day at a time, enjoying each other's company.
If people are looking for a solid commitment, hard work, determination, compromise, sacrifice, and all that, then they should join the military. To me, that doesn't sound much like a warm loving realtionship either.
Why does it have to be so difficult? Why should it be?
RE: Smokers vs non smokers
That's an effective means for getting rid of ants, but if you wish to use tobacco for a pesticide, use the leaves of the plant, not butts. You won't need the detergent that way either, although aphids and some other critters don't like detergent, but neither do some plants.
"A smoke gives a wise man time to think, and a fool something to stick in his mouth"
Ancient Chinese proverb.
