Just hang in there for the time being. Sounds to me like the guy is cutting his own throat - and probably a bit threatened by you, worried that you’re going to expose his inabilities or laziness.
Just keep forcing the guy to give you the answers you need, and ignore the way in which he chooses to answer them or provide the needed info. I’m sure at some point your boss is going to ask you how things are going for you…that’s when you make mention on how difficult the training has been going, and why.

A friend has a cabin not too far from Breckenridge and a group of us usually spend a few weekends each winter there... some go skiing, some snowmobiling, while others just hang out. The first trip is coming up next weekend!
